There was a famous Australian movie made in 1955 called Jedda. Even though set in the Northern Territory, the final scene was filmed here.
Shanghai. Old bike and modern cousin in a couryard in Duolun Road. I enjoyed walking around this relaxed old neighbourhood inhaling the past... The master of this bike was sleeping in a chair nearby and his wife was arranging some things for sale. She could not understand that I wanted to take a picture of their old bike.
There will be many, many, many more to follow...
The Walls of Dubrovnik are a series of defensive stone walls that have surrounded and protected the citizens of the afterward proclaimed maritime city-state of Dubrovnik (Ragusa), situated in southern Croatia, since the city's founding prior to the 7th century as a Byzantium castrum on a rocky island named Laus (Ragusia or Lave). With numerous additions and modifications throughout their history, they have been considered to be amongst the great fortification systems of the Middle Ages, as they were never breached by a hostile army during this time period. In 1979, the old city of Dubrovnik, which includes a substantial portion of the old walls of Dubrovnik, joined the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.

In Journey's entryway, a wall of various crosses are displayed. Different colors, sizes, textures, mediums and history all together in unity of faith. Just like all of us!
more of a huge series of silhouette double-exposures done in-camera using my iPhone and the Hipstamatic app. I printed out a silhouette had taken, and carried it everywhere with me to use as the first photo. I couldn't see the silhouette image when I took the second photo, so I had to guess how they would align.
Granite blocks used as dry stone walling near Two Bridges, on Dartmoor, Devon.
This wall is close to the path leading to Wistman's Wood. Like most stone walls in the British countryside it is obviously 'dry' (unmortared). These blocks are up to about 600-900 mm across. This is large compared with most dry stone walling elsewhere around Britain. In this area the walls may be as old as 17th Century. I would guess the wall here was once a bit more regular along its upper edge and is now rather in disrepair, but it has evidently been like this for quite a long time.
The granite is local Dartmoor granite, dated between 254 and 295 million years old, tectonically Variscan (Hercynian) in age and stratigraphically Permian (299-251 million years).

Location: Carcassonne, a medieval walled city in the Aude department in the Region of Occitanie, Southern France.

Workshop North wall after remodeling.
The open space is where She Who Approves Tool Purchases (AKA, the LOML, my Lady Wife) parks her car on winter weekday evenings and where the big machine tools are pulled out into for use. On the right is the tool parking area. I did some preliminary figuring earlier today, and I think I can reverse the positions of the (not quite visible in this picture) jointer and planer and the table saw and possibly be able to have a permanent place for the saw (without outfeed table) and plenty of clearance front and back.
We walked through Tal-y-bont looking for big autumn leaves and passed this lovely stone wall with it's late hydrangea flowering over the top. In the slate stone crevices grow maidenhair ferns and polypody.
Just an experiment really. Wanted to try and make something along that looked along lines of those old religious frescos that the likes of Giotto was famous for.
Still not happy with it, but I’m sure I’ll get around to finishing it at some point. *g*

Some "wall art" on the side of this abandoned school inside the old military village.
This now abandoned village was built for the "KMT" military veterans that left China along with General Chiang Kai-Shek, after being "pushed out" by the communist army. Built around 60 years ago, there were originally 4 villages, 2 were distroyed by earthquakes and typhoons, 2 still remain. It is called Chieh Kuo, Huwei Township in Yunlin County, Taiwan.

Creepers growing on a wall in the Eden Project.
This barely has added light; it has a speedlight that I didn't even know was going off to the right but it added just enough fill light to keep the contrast down on her left side. Window on her right.
This is a creepy room in the building i have a studio. It looks like someone was living in it yesterday and so we were careful not to lick the walls. Heather was great to work with.
A retaining wall adds dimension to a flat entrance.
