A great night (Part 1)
Untitled Arts Society had an open studio night, did a brief wander before the concert started (next photo), met lots of people including Angela and her wall of paintings, apparently the way she likes to display her work...
Occupy Wall Street Day of Action November 17 2011. Hundreds of people blocked intersections in the streets around heavily-guarded Wall Street. A huge labor rally and march over the Brooklyn Bridge followed that evening.
Siulibona is a small tribal hamlet inhabited by the Santhal tribe en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santhal_people
About 200 kms from Kolkata, the train journey took us a little under 4 hours. We got down at Chhatna station and took a local cab (which we had arranged from Kolkata) to Susunia hills – where we also spent the night. Siulibona village was on the way and the mud wall decorations I had heard of, or correctly speaking – seen glimpses on Flickr www.flickr.com/photos/56819064@N05/7912982796/in/photolis...
Did see a couple of houses, though with lesser art (which I will be posting). Many of the walls are damp from repairs and plastering with cow dung and mud mixture paste, for one of their biggest festivals which incidentally happens to be on the 31st of December and 1st of January
All houses were mud and clay - wall and floor, roof was tiled or thatched straw hay. Brick and mortar houses, my eye could not spot.
What a welcome break from the concrete jungle
Am not sure what the festival is called, but it is supposed to be very big event there
Managed to get some glimpses on here, portraitparlestf.blogspot.in/2011/09/kherwal-tukou-tribal...
Agriculture is the mainstay of these villagers

c1360 Wall paintings discovered on the north wall in 1849 showing the seven acts of mercy with Christ rising from the tomb in the bottom right hand corner
Top - Welcoming strangers, offering drink to the thirsty, clothing the naked & helping the crippled
Below - Visiting prisoners, visiting the sick & burying the dead
Words of Jesus in Matthew 35 verses 31 to 40 :-
31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’- - Church of St Andrew Wickhampton Norfolk
I enjoyed a world to realize this picture
I took three exposures WALL-E, and shoe my son stuffed with plastic and filled with earth, where I added a map germoggio
I added the background of a shot made long ago and I recovered from the Eve poster of Advertising
Two days of work catapulted into a fantasy world
I absolutely love this font. I need to find out what font this is....I think it might be Concord pro medium....

The walls of Valanor are beautiful. A shining gray wall, just shimmering in the sunset. Syla and I scaled the walls because that gated were already closed. We made a game out of it. Both of us tried to see who could get past the guards the best. Syla won. I plan to meet (insert minivan1411's character here) and scout out the assassins guild with him. I am not sure if plans have changed...

While in Cancun on business, the wall kept catching my eye. at this angle it is very tough to "see" that these are actually protruding from the flat wall.
