Tootsie Roll Lollipop, Cherry Flavor. UR Amazing!
Following up on the Birthday present I started last year on Facebook, I've shot a new lollipop to give away. Marybeth came home with them from school and this one caught my eye, I really thought the flavor was something new like cotton candy or pink lemonade, I was surprised to find out it was good old cherry!
Last year I struggled like crazy to get the focus stack to work and I've come to the conclusion that the distortion introduced by the Nikon 55mm caused the problem. Further research will be required to determine if the issue was inherent in the lens or the fact that I had reached the limitations of focus stacking with a 55mm lens. I shot this with the Voigtlander 125mm and processed the 54 image stack with Helicon stacking software. OK I admit it, a bit excessive at f/8 but I'm still learning and more layers SHOULD produce a better image. I'm very impressed with the working of the Helicon software (FINALLY) which seemed to work better than my horrible trials I conducted last year. The stack came out just perfect, I'm amazed at the subject edge definition. It's also cool to watch the alignment and stacking take place within the application and displayed on the computer screen.
So, if by chance it's your birthday, I'm ahead of the game - Happy Birthday!
The original image (with green background) was shot with the VOIGTLANDER, 125mm f/2.5 SL, MACRO APO-LANTHAR @ f/8, 54 Layer Focus Stack. Helicon (B,R8,S4).
And Thank You Lenebem-Anna for use of the textures.
The Voigtlander was feeling a little left out of the Crocus shoot so I revisited Marybeth's garden and took a few more. Shot with the Voigtlander 125mm f/2.5 Macro APO-Lanthar.

Voigtländer Vitomatic II Rangefinder. Stripped down serviced and rebuilt. High quality German engineering. Was it worth it? Yes, it's in mint condition and well worth the effort.
Metal lens hood still in box with price tag 1 pound, 7 shillings and nine pence. That's around £1.39 today. Cannot remember the price I paid for this camera all them years ago.

Beverley and I have been photographing together throughout the Bay Area since retiring in 2014. But it wasn’t until three years ago when she transitioned from iPhone to DSLR…and photography became her passion. We try to make our photographic outings an adventure…and sometimes we even take photos.

Look what I found! :-)
Would really like to try this one out. Probably the coolest camera I have ever seen. Oh, well the Agfamatic 4000 is pretty hot too but I am not able to get any film for that one. Gonna do some reading about this one.
