Vlog of this one here...
Sunday at Portknockie, on Scotland's Moray Firth, was a slightly more flat day. There wasn't much wind and the sky was largely uninteresting. This made finding a good shot tricky. Fortunately as the tide reached its highest point, some good waves kicked up and gave me an opportunity to revisit a composition from a while ago and see if I could put a different spin on it.

I wouldn't normally take seascape images when the sun is high in the sky and there is mostly blue sky, but I felt I should yesterday as this weather has been a long time in coming. Back to grey today though but it does feel like we have finally turned a corner and that Spring has finally begun. It has been a long and challenging Winter but it certainly made things interesting. I do love when Scotland is like this though. It reminds me of why I choose to live in this stunning little part of the world. Cullen Bay in Morayshire, Scotland.

Sunrise didn't look like it was going to amount to much but at the very last second, some beautiful colour started to appear in the sky. Also, the waves were playing ball. Very active seas made things interesting and challenging but my adventurousness was rewarded with long wave trails and no rain. It's not often that everything comes together as well as this so I am really pleased to have made the effort this morning! Taken at Tronach Head near Portknockie in Morayshire, Scotland.

My vlog of this one is up now youtu.be/VOVVdc-sH-c I find photographing snow very tricky. Sometimes I just cannot find a composition in all the chaos. This image was almost shot by accident. I had decided that this tree in the middle of the image was going to be my focal point but the first couple of shots looked dull on the camera's screen. Then all of a sudden this light started to pour through the trees and changed everything. I decided not to recompose as I liked the contrast of the darker side of the woods to the light on either side of the image. Photographed at Forgandenny in Perthshire, Scotland.

Yesterday was a really productive day. After a 30 minute jog first thing, I decided to drive to Spey Bay, in Morayshire, Scotland, to do a vlog and get a couple of images. When I set out, there was a thick sea fog over the entire area but by the time I made it to this location, it had more or less completely burned off. This put somewhat of a damper on my thoughts of a moody, very long exposure so I had to work with what I had. Which, to be fair, wasn't a bad thing as the light shining off the pebbles on the beach made for a stunning scene.

The view back down Glen Turret reservoir yesterday was truly awesome. I could not believe my luck with the weather. This was my first day off in 3 weeks and I thought that sod's law would prevail. Fortunately this was not the case. It was however, exceptionally cold and windy and the wind chill was freezing the water as it splashed out of the loch onto the land.
