In this shot I used a light painting process with my flashlight to brighten the rocks in the foreground. It's a neutral white so it looks fairly natural. I loved How the city lights in the background and the clouds turned out nice. Vlog below!! Kris....
Beginning around 1865 John Carmichael Haynes began to acquire large amounts of ranch land in the Osoyoos and Oliver areas. It was one of the first cattle ranches in the Okanagan Valley and he eventually amassed about 22,000 acres. Haynes also was judge as well as customs officer for the Osoyoos/US border crossing.

youtu.be/qub4H0IGxds Today was a great day. I finally got around to purchasing a drone. Its first proper flight therefore had to be over Bow Fiddle Rock. The weather was perfect for flying and, as it turns out, also perfect for photography. So after the flight, I headed down to the shore to photograph the rock so that I had a final image for a vlog that I will put together for the first flight. Taken at Portknockie in Morayshire, Scotland.

I wouldn't normally take seascape images when the sun is high in the sky and there is mostly blue sky, but I felt I should yesterday as this weather has been a long time in coming. Back to grey today though but it does feel like we have finally turned a corner and that Spring has finally begun. It has been a long and challenging Winter but it certainly made things interesting. I do love when Scotland is like this though. It reminds me of why I choose to live in this stunning little part of the world. Cullen Bay in Morayshire, Scotland.

Yesterday was a really productive day. After a 30 minute jog first thing, I decided to drive to Spey Bay, in Morayshire, Scotland, to do a vlog and get a couple of images. When I set out, there was a thick sea fog over the entire area but by the time I made it to this location, it had more or less completely burned off. This put somewhat of a damper on my thoughts of a moody, very long exposure so I had to work with what I had. Which, to be fair, wasn't a bad thing as the light shining off the pebbles on the beach made for a stunning scene.

A photographer friend of mine recently recommended that I take a trip to Linn Falls near Aberlour in Speyside, Scotland. This was a fantastic suggestion as this location did not disappoint. The waterfall is straight forward to get to and there some perfect points in the area to photograph it from that present many great compositions. This was the most obvious one, made even better by the old, stuck branch. I highly recommend this as a place to visit and whilst you are there, you can visit the Aberlour Distillery and pick up a bottle of what I consider the best value for money whisky, the 12 year old!
