Visualization of the roots of z^3=1 found by Newton-Raphson with starting points in (real, i, j) space (i.e. k=0).
With detailed guidelines and specifications to follow for the Interiors, Riot Design (UK) Ltd worked closely with SDA Architects in generating a large package of images for the rebranding of the Volvo identity.
Visualise the shot.
Had this idea for a while, but never got round to it till now.
I don't actually do this to plan for a shot, but having done photography constantly, every day for 218 days, I look at my surrounding differently and decide whether I think it could look good as a photograph.
The editing on this didn't really take that long, but I ended up not having enough time before going out for a family meal, followed by meeting up with some mates for a night out.
This application is a visualiser for the next generation of 3D ground avoidance sonar. It is coded in C#, using DirectX9 for drawing.
The 3D matrices retrieved from the echo sounder are processed and polygonised with the marching-cube algorithm.
The colour display is based on height or intensity of the echo, allowing a visual identification of the obstacles respectively by their depth or material.
The resolution of the processed 3D matrices can be changed arbitrarily.
Files can be displayed in succession via a playback function.
This screen is a point cloud rendering with a colour palette based on echo intensities. The transparency of the point can be modified to show the 3D shape and not just one layer.

This painting belongs to Wendy Barawanga
Of Elcho Island, Galiwinku.
During my visit to Garma Festival in 2009,
With permission from Wendy to paint and
exhibit her portrait, to help visualise the
connection to the land. The original photo,
showed how shy and melancholy, Wendy
was at the time, due to the loss of her
Mother, the previous year. The painting
gives Wendy the Wisdom and strength,
unlike the shy and fragile photograph taken
of her on the day. The native flower is
called ‘love’, and is shown much larger than
life, as it is easily picked unlike Wendy set
on a beautiful top end of Australia sunset.
In my spare time I decided to experiment with visualisation modelling, and chose my iPhone 4 as my first subject, as I thought it could be an easy starting point. I modelled and textured it as accurately as I could with the renderers I have.
First attempts at rendering data in colour.
Blue spots are tweets, orange spots are Gowalla check-ins. Spots are rendered in chronological order.
