After being fermented in open vats this wine was patiently matured for 16 months in French and American oak barrels. It was matured only in old French Oak Casks and is a big full bodied wine showing rich ripe fruit character, deep colour and a firm well balanced acid and tannin finish. It shows distinctive earthy Hunter character on the nose and a comparatively high alcohol level. I believe this to be a great wine that will mature into a soft old Hunter style and will require long cellar ageing."
