Patience, Hope and Charity are visiting Hitty's friend Faith, who has a summer cold. They hope they don't catch it.
Visiting Zagreb, Zagreb Cathedral, Croatia.
The Zagreb Cathedral on Kaptol is the most famous building in Zagreb and the tallest building in Croatia. It is dedicated to the Assumption of Mary and to kings Saint Stephen and Saint Ladislaus. The cathedral is typically gothic and its imposing spires can be seen from many locations in the city.
The construction of the cathedral started in 1093. The building was destroyed by the Tatars in 1242. At the end of the 15th century, the Ottoman Empire invaded Bosnia and Croatia, triggering the construction of fortification walls around the cathedral, some of which are still intact.
The cathedral was severely damaged in the 1880 earthquake. The restoration of the cathedral in the Neo-Gothic style was led by Hermann Bollé, bringing the cathedral to its present form. As part of that restoration, two spires 108 m high were raised on the western side.
A friend who has Gypsy Horses is letting her herd stay on our farm for a while, giving her grass some time to grow back. So while they're here getting some groceries, we're enjoying the pastures full of color! They've already gained weight and are looking nice and plump :)
You've seen these two horses before when they were babies! The horse in the center is Miss America and the horse on the right is Hawthorne, who was named Miley when she visited our farm with her dam, Forget-Me-Not Valentine Rose.
Here are the pics I posted of America:

[Having returned home and as we inch into late Fall and Winter with no plans for extended photo trips until next year, I resume uploading the rest of my selected photos from 2020 (10 per day, usually in the morning CET), as well as a selection of my current, 2021 photos (usually 3 or 4 per day, in the evening CET).]
The Gers is a small part of the region of Aquitaine, which covers most of southwestern France. On July 2020, we rented a house for three weeks in the Gers area, and commencing today, I will upload a selection of the photographs I took while we were there. I hope you will enjoy them!
As usual, I will caption more specifically in bold type below whenever necessary.
The village of Aignan features a very remarkable, enormous Romanesque church. Much too large for such a small settlement, it was heavily fortified and made part of the ramparts that protected the village. This explains that the only entrance is to the south, which was inside the sheet wall.
It is a truly remarkable church, a fine example of the alliance between the regular and the secular in the interest of mutual protection.
This is a very interesting view of the “double apse” that shows how the church was enlarged haphazardly on the one side, as the other was part of the sheet wal that encircled the village for protection —and a very thick wall it was indeed!
EXPLORE - while I didn't look, dropped out at 445... Thank You ALL!
I love Paris in the springtime,
I love Paris in the fall,
I love Paris in the winter, when it drizzles,
I love Paris in the summer, when it sizzles.
I love Paris every moment,
Every moment of the year,
I love Paris,
Why, oh why, do I love Paris,
Because my love is near.

Now, before you get too excited, PLEASE read the tags.... ;-)
I would never have dreamed that one day in my life I would be able to see the Eiffel like this.... from the balcony of an incredibly beautiful appt., almost overwhelmingly much 'Haussmann'; the height of the rooms made me dizzy.... :)
But knowing me you know I made the best out of this unexpected occasion and shot the typical tourist pixie - and now YOU know that I wasn't in Devon when I said I was...
(actually, these words I've seen first time on a postcard in Devon, with Eiffel tower and everything....!!! Sadly, I no longer own this postcard as I sent it to some English friend after I moved to France!!! But this is the kind of modesty and sense of humour I love in the English!)

Yeah!!!!! Huge kudos to my hubby for helping me drive around town today for Luka, the Travelling Blythe photos. She has to leave tomorrow morning & I hadn't been able to get her out & about town.
Anyway, we live in Bristol, Tennessee, USA. Our town is kind of special because it splits between two states. You can drive down the main road downtown one way & be in Virginia. Then turn around & drive back on the Tennessee side.
Bristol has different political positions for each side. Two different police stations that work separately, but the city promotes itself as one place.
This sign has been up in our town since 1921. It reads "Bristol VA-TN - A Good Place to Live"
I'll be uploading more Luka shots a little at a time today & tomorrow in honor of this little visitor. I'm so sad to let her go!
Me and my son Isar traveling around Iceland in July. Visiting spectacular places, as Hvítserkur, a natural rock sculpture placed in Húnaflói north-west of Iceland.
but it turned out they were both from California originally. She from Salinas (just a 20 minute drive from here) and he from LA.

Long run down and back on the motorways again today.. Needed a few of these... ☕️☕️
Been to check up on the mother saga!!
She's been moved! 😁
She is now at her new and permanent address (nursing home) not far from where she was living recently. It means her friends can visit plus it is much easier to get to for all the family! 😁
She seems settled and happy there. It's only been a week or so but it seems to be the place for her.!! 👍
P.S. I wasn't ready for that picture to be taken!!!
Visiting Frankfurt, Germany
This time I made - as so often - a Black & White and a Colour Version, as both show their special mood.
I used my Ricoh GR II with its 2.8/28mm lens and the Olympus OM-D E-M1 with its M.Zuiko 2.8/7-14mm lens.
Visiting Beipu in Hsinchu, Taiwan, we were caught, as were many others, in a sudden heavy thunderstorm.
Visiting Cindy for the first time really was the highlight of my year. So I couldn’t resist posting a couple more pics to remind me of that memorable day

Our first stop on our Alaska trip was Brooks Falls in Katmai National Forest. Delivered there by Katmai Air Service on a small plane to King Salmon and then a float plane to Brooks Falls, where there are viewing platforms to watch the coastal brown bears fishing for the gazillion salmon in the Brooks River!
