Cloister of St. Francesco inner court yard Colonnade. The monastery was built in the 7th century and the attached church was constructed in 14th century, in the baroque style and comes with one nave and various chapeles. The cloister has different architectural styles from the various centuries, and comes with arches on the sides of the portico.

Historic Rocca San Felice in ancient Samnium's Ansanto Valley. This area has been settled since Neolithic times, and was a scared spot for the nearby sulfuric springs that spun to the Samnite Goddess Mefites. Virgil wrote of the shrine at the volcano Ampsanctus in Samnium. in his epic poem Aeneid. Due to the strong following after Rome conquest of the region, Via Appia was passed less than a KM, from the temple. Many offerings were and can still be found.

Getting lost on a drive in la bella Puglia back in 2015, we came around the bend to this splendid town (Minervino Murge). Took few hours on Google maps back home to figure it out the towns name. Because when asking the two old men seen, their heavy dialect threw me way off, I asking twice, and still didn't understand so instead of looking foolish we just waived said our greetings and went on to continued our adventures. I honestly love the land of my parents, and grazie nona per avermi insegnato la tua lingua quando giovane. Though in old Puglia didn't help..

In view are two of three Doric Column Temples, they are the 1st and 2nd Temples of Hera
City remained prosperous during the early years of the Roman Empire; than called Paestum. But the city eventually was abandoned and remained unknown due to silting up of the mouth of the Silarus River, Some say due to the eruption of Vesuvius, for the est. time of abandonment and eruption fall in line. This silting eventually created a malarial infested swamp and the city remained unknown and buried under silt until the 1800s.
The magnificence of this city is the level of preservation from the city's entire defensive walls & gates of Greek origin are still fully intact to three beautiful temples, and a theater
One more bonus, it's quite off the beaten path of Tourist, That makes it even more enjoyable.
