Caption: In the last few years, I\'ve been documenting the story of Maura (70) and Valentina (102), two blind women, mother and daughter, living together in Genoa, Italy. The gestures of their everyday life were always filled with an unique love. While Maura put Valentina to bed, it seemed that the two women looked at each other in the eyes intensely. Maura’s smile shone a light into the darkness.

Caption: India is now home to the world’s largest number of blind people. In addition, nearly 30,000 blind people are added every year. Cataract is the primary cause for blindness in India. Every year approximately three million people develop cataract in India but the worst part is that almost half of these cases are curable, which when left unattended translates to complete or partial blindness. Meanwhile there is an acute shortage of donated eyes in India and nearly 60% of the eyes donated are wasted or left unused.

Chhoti the Bride, a graduate and an ardent music lover tied the knot with Rajendra Kumar Sharma, resident of Delh, a school teacher by profession,The love stories of these couple blossomed not at \'first sight\' but through their heartstrings because they are blind. Chhoti was introduced to Rajendra the Groom few months back through one of her friends. They spoke to each other over phone. Initally they spoke about education for blind people but it was through their conversation that they came closer and soon they were in love.\" His way of talking, behaviour, thoughts impressed me. It was his nature that attracted me most and I was sure that I want to marry him, said Chhoti, clad in red Banarasi and gold ornaments, with a blushing smile. She added that he being a school teacher has always inspired her to pursue higher education and encourages her to work after marriage.Rajendra Kumar Sharma dressed like a typical bengali bridegroom with dhoti, punjabi and topor said \" he is very much tensed but is loving all the wedding rituals\". \"Chhoti\'s simplicity made me fall in love with her, said Sharma, who vowed to make Chhoti an independent women.
