Vishnu Springs (vishnusprings.org) opened to the public for one day. After parking, it was about a half mile walk to the area of the 1890's resort town. The pathway went through a beautiful wooded forest.

Angkor Wat is a temple complex in Cambodia and one of the largest religious monuments in the world, on a site measuring 162.6 hectares. Originally constructed as a Hindu temple dedicated to the god Vishnu for the Khmer Empire, it was gradually transformed into a Buddhist temple towards the end of the 12th century.

The morning sun makes itself known from behind the clouds over the bell shaped formation known as the Temple of Vishnu.
From the Wiki Page: "Vishnu Temple is named for Vishnu, the Hindu deity, redeemer of the universe. This toponym was applied in 1880 by Clarence Dutton who thought this mountain resembled an oriental pagoda, when he began the tradition of naming geographical features in the Grand Canyon after mythological deities."
I believe that is Humphreys Peak, a dormant volcano, way off in the distance, which is just north of Flagstaff, Arizona.

Der schönste Tafelberg (Butte) der Schlucht erinnert in seiner Gestalt verblüffend einen Hindutempel. Der Vishnu Temple ist nach der hinduistischen Gottheit Vishnu benannt worden.
Viele topographische Geländepunkte und auch Gesteinsformationen im Grand Canyon sind nach mythologischen Gottheiten benannt.

On our first night in the Grand Canyon we went out to Grandview and got to enjoy this view! Lots of people here but nonetheless worth the stop! It got me really excited to start our backpacking trip the next day!

Here is a shot from my campsite on the tonto trail. A magnificent view of these temples. I went on a 6 day backpacking trip on the escalante route and almost made it to the Little Colorado River, but was turned around by the weather and lack of food. I started at Grandview and ended at Tanner.
A beautiful panel showing Lord Vishnu and his consort in the Chennakesava temple at Belur, Karnataka !!! This temple was built by Hoysala dynasty kings in the 13th century. This is the finest example of Hoysala architecture !!!

Beautiful sculpture of Varaha Avatar of Lord Vishnu-
Varaha is the third avatar of the Hindu god Vishnu in the form of a boar. When the demon Hiranyaksha stole the earth (personified as the goddess Bhudevi) and hid her in the primordial waters, Vishnu appeared as Varaha to rescue her. Varaha slew the demon and retrieved the Earth from the ocean, lifting it on his tusks, and restored Bhudevi to her place in the universe.
Varaha may be depicted completely as a boar or in an anthropomorphic form, with a boar's head and human body.
