Having been under virtual house arrest for some time, it’s easy to get carried away with the excitement of a short break, post Covid-19. You’re taking in new sights, sounds, smells and tastes. It’s an adventure for the soul. But rich foods and drinks, lack of exercise and the stress of travel, particularly with young children, can take a toll on your health. To avoid paying for it later on, take a few steps to remain healthy.

REMEMBER TO GET ENOUGH SLEEP

A holiday after such a stressful period for everyone might be much welcomed, but don’t neglect your sleep patterns. Aim for six to nine hours a night and take a short nap in the afternoon if you need it.

WASH YOUR HANDS OFTEN

Stop germs in their tracks. Remember: wet, lather, scrub, rinse, and dry. This isn’t just good advice in a pandemic, it’s important every single day of your life. Practice it frequently throughout the day to prevent spread of diarrhea and respiratory disease, too. PACK SMART While it’s great to finally be free to enjoy a break, beware of the holiday cheer. Many hotels offer complimentary drinks, snacks or cakes. The result can be hard on your system. Pack Udo’s Choice Ultimate Digestive Enzyme Blend, to aid your digestion. A unique blend of seven plant-based digestive enzymes assist in the breakdown of proteins, fats, carbohydrates and fibre. Udo’s Choice Super 8 Microbiotic is a hi-count microbiotic blend that contains eight strains of lacto and bifido bacteria.

First experience of this incredible technology. You are submerged in a metal cage watching sharks when the front of your cage is torn away by a very aggressive white shark - - -

During early morning hours, and while the five-story temporary Art Hotel exhibit isn't open for public viewing, a team from Dreyfuss & Blackford Architects (D&B) has been laser scanning the entire building since Monday, February 8, 2016. The completed scan combines the three dimensional data into an online virtual art exhibit “walk-through” available for public viewing starting at 8:00 PM PST on February 19, 2016. Virtual Art Hotel is only available for a limited time, and will be completely erased the day the building is demolished.

“As the Art Hotel closes, the “walk-through” will be available only temporarily, so that both the hotel exhibit itself and the virtual exhibit are short-term,” says Jason A. Silva, design principal at Dreyfuss & Blackford and project lead for the Virtual Art Hotel.

Led by Silva and Chad Garcia, director of design technology at D&B, the team will scan, compile and launch the free online "point cloud" model allowing the public to virtually experience the building in a way people have never seen before. After the Jade Apartments are demolished, the Virtual Art Hotel will be removed from the Internet and all instances of the data will be destroyed.

The laser scanning technology works by millions of points being recorded by LIDAR scanning equipment, which senses light reflected from the laser as it rotates and covers a complete spherical range. “The term LIDAR is a portmanteau of light and radar, and functions the same as radar, with the benefit of light reflection - including color, which is ideal to record the art inside the space,” said Silva. “As architects, we use this tool to accurately document existing conditions when renovating or remodeling an existing building. However, in this case this virtual online experience will, like the Art Hotel itself, be temporary,” he added.
