After packing up everything I felt important I left… It was time for me to just go and start over. I left my phone and any forms of ID. I didn’t know where I was going or what I was gonna do but I knew one thing for sure...Jennifer Legace was dead. I could bear the hold to hold the name anymore with all the trauma and heartache attached to it. I made one last stop on my way out of town. I stopped to visit my godparents, which turned out to be the best decision I made for myself so far. I walked in the house and was immediately greeted by them on the couch kissing.
“Oh Jesus my eyes are burning…” I said as I frantically rubbed my eyes with my free hand. They jumped apart in shock as I stood there giggling, “Suprisssseee Shawwwttttyyyy!” I didn’t walk further into the room since I figured I was interrupting something, which my godmother made apparent as she began ripping me a new one. She went on for a good 10 minutes before her anger began to die off. My godfather lightly placed his hand over her mouth as he looked over at me, “You wanna explain why you’re here Ms.Thing.” I sighed before looking him directly in his eye, “I came by to say goodbye, I feel smothered here and I figured I owed y’all a goodbye before I left..”
“Girl I outta smack the shit outta you...where the fuck are you going?’ I shrugged as the questions began because I didn’t have an answer to any of them. After what felt like hours of interrogation they decided to let me go on my way but not before making sure I promised to call when I got somewhere safe. I headed out their door for what I thought would be the last time…
