Just a couple of days ago Truthseeker gave me that extraordinary gift and last night I received another one such from Suzanne Graves!
"Cyclic Structure #3" is rezzed on the lowest platform on the southern shore of Syncretia, for all those that want to admire it in world.
Based on 17th century Vanitas paintings, this unisex outfit has many sculpty attachments, a mask and hat, pearl pendants, boots, a hand held skull, 2 separate garments, and one dark and one light toned furry skin. It also comes with a custom AO by Frigg Ragu and Alpho is showing some of the poses in these photos together with Grapho.

One small note: Please use the shared region light. I have built this whole thing around the shadows that things cast (they are very long and come at a particular angle). So, anything other than the light setting that I put in place will not let you see what this is all about. :-)
There are so many variations to the skin on this one that it simply had to all be put into some kind of a composite image: 6 skins for ladies and 6 for gentlemen. Some ornate, others less so, some incorporating typographic elements, others without typography. Other than that there are shoulder pads, shoes, a mohawk and a pelvic attachment, which for lack of a better word we are simply calling a "skirt".

I really do need to get out more often. There is a whole world out there and all I seem to be doing is cleaning out my inventory?
So, I was invited to a really lovely party at a club located at Insilico tonight. Great music, great people! Very stylish crowd - and halfway through I realized that I had actually shown up wearing my moth eaten old tail! Just goes to show you how unused I am to the high life...
Alpha Sea is the name of a second island attached to ShapeShifter at NGrid on the OpenSim. Its fauna is comprised of gargoyles, imps and dragons who are all awaiting their visitors...

These are the first trials in a series which will involve all my alt avatars and which I will eventually gather together as a narrative web domain. I am going to try and construct a sort of a tale based upon Shakespearean quotes and sonnets, without a real storyline, loosely woven out of the doings of a group of avatars who love Shakespeare and Rachel Ruysch.
All the poses used are Frigg Ragu's: If it weren't for the narrative potential which these open up to me, it would never even have occurred to me to do something like this.
"Padded", a dark and textured outfit designed by Grapho Fullstop, consisting of many attachments for men and women.

Amina wanted to do something "middle eastern", and no amount of lecturing on my part on the lamentable fact that we would not be able to belly-dance our way out of a paper bag could stop her.
So, here it is folks. A full set of belly-dance silks (+ some very nice sculpty high heel sandals and hair).

This unisex outfit is actually the sister outfit of one on which Xiamara is working at the moment. I should probably be saying "brother outfit" though, considering that this has actually been designed by Grapho, our in-house dark/texture specialist.
These two outfits are both inspired by the novel "My name is Red" by Turkish Nobel laureate Orhan Pamuk. The book describes the events surrounding a murder amongst illuminator/calligraphers in 16th century Istanbul. And so, Ottoman ornamentation is the underlying design system for both this one as well as Xia's, which will in fact be called "My name is Red" in tribute to Orhan Pamuk, and will be released within a few days. (Hopefully!)
Oh and, not to forget, Grapho has lightened up the regal nature of the pennants and the Ottoman boots which go with the outfit, with a custom textured pogo stick with which you can become a hopping Sultan or Sultana!

Until they get their PR sorted out over there, I will have to put in a few photos here as well, I suppose. ;-)

BeTeBe were these tiny mosaic wall and floor tiling thingies which used to be very popular when I was kid. (At least that was they were called around here back then). Anyway, after a long hiatus alpha.tribe is back at work and being the CEO and everything, of course, I get to take first dibs: This comes with male and female garments/skin and quite a few attachments, including hair and shoes.

Fixed LP, take a short walk to the teleporter to go up.
Too bad Alpho wasn't around when terry Krokus, one of our fave customers, modeled her "Gloss Furry" outfit for our Xiamara! But she can see this photo for which Xia asked terry to pose for. Very kindly he obliged...
Doesn't he look gorgeous?

Up until about 800 years ago Turks were nomads, living on the plains of Central Asia. So, contrary to popular misconception, we are not a middle eastern/Arabic culture but an oriental one; the closest linguistic relatives being Korean and Japanese. And apparently my own looks kick back to a great grandfather from Bukhara...
So, what better dwelling than a tent for a virtual nomad?
This one is from Angry Monkey, although I changed all of the original textures. Those were quite nice too but not exactly right for Syncretia.

Really nothing much to say, the photos will say it all and then some.
Took a few photos of the newly enlarged premises and stitched them together as panoramas. I am always nervous of pristine, shiny, aligned (and generally obsessive :-( alpha.tribe being something of a discordant structure within its surroundings at Klein, which is a chaotic, emergent and wild and wonderful place.
Funnily enough, the shop does seem to have a place there? At least if these photos are anything to go by...

Giant purification tank, with rusty Hobo truck.
Syncretia/Citrinitas is an alchemical power plant which utilizes the water pumped from the Black Mountain for alchemical purposes. This water is cycled through the fairy chimneys at Syncretia/Cappadocia, after which it begins its long journey across the plains of the northern shore. The acquisition of alchemical properties is initiated during this phase: As it progresses the water gains in density. In the plant proper the water is further treated to the point where it can actually turn dross to gold! The two Hobo trucks inside the huge containers are currently undergoing treatment. One unexpected byproduct is a rejuvenating elixir! Sitting inside one of the spheres below the purification tanks can create wonders, not only in therms of appearance but also of state of mind!

So news. I opened an exhibit called "Aural" as a collaboration with Morlita Quan a sound artist for Feint and Bone art sim. Essentially Morlita created a layered sound which was broken down into parts that added up to that final sound. I was then given these sounds and would contemplate how they made me feel in order to express them. The idea being to create a space where the sound element was not overpowered by the visual one. I wanted to create it so that the sounds of Morlita were more the focal point that the visual aspect that I created and hopefully it worked. Below you can see the machinima and decide for yourself if I did justice to the wonderful sounds of Morlita.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=69_xTBjPaMw
This machinima for Aural is also now part of a group exhibit called Parallel Worlds being shown in Portugal. Opening on the 24th, at 4 pm, at Casa Municipal da Cultura de Estarreja, Portugal. As part of the 2021 Avanca International Film Festival. Aural is open in the virtual space of Second Life until August 1st. It is a group exhibit showing some of the talented artists who work in virtual spaces.

Psst what is machinima?
It is the use of real-time computer graphics engines to create a cinematic production. Most often, video games are used to generate the computer animation. So for example in the machinima I make for my youtube channel I will create all the models in Zbrush, write the story and compose the environment then film the desktop, later editing the recordings in software. While it does not allow for the same freedom of the virtual space which I create, it does compliment it and allow for an ephemeral space to be remembered.

This very quiet and subtle piece is definitely my favorite work in the garden and I do want to make a special point and say that.
It is also extremely difficult work to photograph, due to the roaming nature of the beasties. I spent a lot of time and shot countless pix - however, this is the best that I could do. And still it ain't great!
