Governor Terry McAuliffe visits Caledon State Park in King George, Va., Aug. 22, 2014, to celebrate public access to rivers and the Chesapeake Bay.
Warren County, Virginia. Shenandoah River Raymond R. "Andy" Guest Jr. State Park is on the South Fork of the Shenandoah River and has more than 1,600 acres along 5.2 miles of shoreline. The park opened in June 1999. In addition to the meandering river frontage, the park offers scenic views of Massanutten Mountain to the west and Shenandoah National Park to the east. With more than 25 miles of trails, the park has plenty of options for hiking, biking, horseback riding and adventure.

The following morning, we took the dogs out for their early morning walk. Here is a view of the Cabin Area in the morning mist, looking from the driveway of Cabin #6 towards Cabin #8 and Lodge #9.

It wasn't too much further up the trail when we came to this sign marking the junction with Running Cedar Trail. We turned right to continue on Channel Cat Trail Loop.
