After a couple missed years, I was able to make it back to the James Fund Exotic Car Day. This is a charity event put on by the ILR Car Control School, where owners of exotic cars give full throttle passenger rides around an autocross course for charity. 100% of the funds raised go to the James Fund, searching for a cure for Neuroblastoma, a type of cancer.

One of the cars in attendance was this brand new Viper ACR. The owner had only had it for a few months, and the car had less than 800km on it. He also was not afraid to push the car to its limits, at the risk of the perfect paint! Its always great to see a car like this being used properly.

I had the opportunity to ride in this car around the course, and the grip is absolutely phenomenal! The power never stops coming and the handling was like nothing else. It is really something that needs to be experienced to appreciate the engineering in a car like this.

There's a saying, "The only difference between men and boys is the price of their toys!" This shot seems to prove that. Price of the 12" BMX bicycle with training wheels, about $65; price of the Dodge Viper ACR, in excess of $100,000.

I'm replacing my scavenger hunt bicycle shot with this one.

The optional Extreme Aero Package was the secret to the Viper ACR's success at breaking lap records, doing so at 13 different tracks. It added a front splitter extension, four dive planes, an adjustable dual element wing, diffuser strakes, hood louvres and brake ducts, all of which combined to produce over 1700 lbs of downforce.

This particular car is the only ACR Extreme built in this striking colour combination, and it gets driven properly, making regular appearances at events such as Drive Festival where the owner holds nothing back, pushing right to the limits.

This was taken at Drive Festival last summer.
