Morning frost on blown, black volcanic sand beach dunes at Stokksnes in Iceland. The Vestrahorn mountain is in the background and, if you look carefully, you can see the structures of the viking village film set being used next year by Universal in the production of the film Vikingr.
This day I was looking for some small household and other utensils the Vikings were using in their daily life. The Vikings were excellent traders and craftsmen.

The village is a replica of an authentic Viking village, created as a movie set for a Universal Studios production. However, the show scrapped it as a filming location for budgetary reasons. Since then, the area has been open for curious visitors to explore at their leisure.
In 2018, the same movie company acquired the rights to produce Vikingr, a movie about early Vikings and Icelandic adventures. The film used the village as one of its sets. More recently, Netflix announced that their series, The Witcher, would use the Viking Village film set and other Eastfjords attractions in filming the show’s prequel, Blood Origins.

The village of Wickenby, in West Lindsey, Lincolnshire.
The name derives from the Old Norse víkinga-býr meaning 'farm/settlement of Vikingr' or 'farm/settlement of the Vikings'. Wickenby existed at the time of Domesday Book of 1086 when it consisted of fifteen households.

After the death of their king, the Vikingr had no reason for invasion. They very nearly continued their raid to recoup their losses, but the English took advantage of the lull brought by the messenger- not to turn the tide of battle, but to offer freely that which the Vikingr would otherwise take by force.
The Vikingr, despite their reputation, did not thirst for blood and battle. They too had taken losses, and accepted the offer readily, though cautiously. The feast of Michaelmas to celebrate the autumnal equinox was but a few days away, and true to their word, the English brought forth food and drink in fellowship- and in the end, both viking and englishman treated each other like old friends, and were merry.
Built in 2010, the set is located on the land of a local farmer. For a small fee, he allows visitors to wander around the amazing location, which is finally scheduled to make its debut next year in a film by Universal.The most striking feature of the village is the buildings, which ape the architecture of the period magnificently. Guests can pry open the wooden doors and find themselves within a range of rooms that look almost indistinguishable from the real thing. But this is not the only piece of period detail; the settlement also comes equipped with a dungeon located beneath an enormous artificial boulder.
The movie the village was created for was never actually filmed due to funding issues. Ever since, the location has waited in limbo for a production company to come along and use it. Recently, the wait finally ended when Universal acquired the rights to produce Vikingr, a film by the Icelandic director Baltasar Kormákur. This film is expected to start production next year, with some of the filming taking place at the settlement.
Meanwhile, the location remains open to the public. This means that those curious enough to stray from Iceland’s capital of Reykjavik can still role-play any pillaging fantasies.

After a series of delays, a lone longship travels to England to catch up with the Norse army, but makes landing much too far north, going inland on the Tyne. Lost and desperate for supplies, the Norsemen come across Brādwic, and make to attack.
As the englisc weapon-men rush to defend their village from the víkingar, a second prong runs in at their backs. Trapped in a vise, things look grim until the arrival of an english messenger bringing news that, on this day, Harald Hardrada has been killed at Stamford.

Thus Garulf, an englisc weapon-man, stays behind with the leg-wounded Hrafn, leader of the vikingr, tending the dead and dying.
These are the hardships of the warrior:

...and to come to aid in battle when the battle is all but lost.
With the shield wall broken by Norman trickery, the English forces are slaughtered, caught on both sides by their foe. Elsewhere on the battlefield, King Harold is slain and brutalized, and the demoralized English forces are killed, or flee.
