View straight down from the Hillbrow Tower, as seen from Level 19 (telecommunications equipment level).

It's interesting how structures are seen on top. Where can I find the fork to match this?

View of the Empire state building from the Rockefeller Center in New York. I thought of taking the glass as part of the photo as it makes the photo more interesting (in my mind). What do you think?

Hello friends, sorry I've been MIA once again for the past few days! The weather was nice, the workload was a little low, so we decided to take a quick trip down to Paris!

It was a whirlwind of a trip...between the millions of things to see in 3 days, Iyana (our 11 months old) in tow, it was quite a rush.

One of the initial trips were to the fabled Notre Dame, magnificent in its entirety. The problem however was that the place was incredibly dim along with the standing order of no tripods. Also the fact that Iyana at that moment decided that she didn't like her shoes anymore and chucked them in random directions didn't help either. All of this resulted in slightly shaky hands that translated to blurry pictures.

Sissinghurst Castle Garden, Sissinghurst, Kent. The garden was created by Poet and gardening writer Vita Sackville-West along with her husband Harold Nicholson, writer and diplomat. She was fortunate and wrote a gardening column for The Observer and this helped to make her garden very well known.

A manor house with moat was built on the site in the Middle Ages and in the 1530’s an addition of a new brick gatehouse. More building work took place in the 1560’s. The first part of the work was commissioned by Sir John Baker, one of Henry VIII’s Privy Councillors and the second part by his son Sir Richard Baker.

After the collapse of the Baker family towards the end of the 1600’s, the building underwent many changes, it was a prisoner-of-war camp (In the 7 Years War), a workhouse for the Cranbrook Union, then homes for Farm Labourers.

When Vita Sackville-West and Harold Nicholson purchased Sissinghurst it was derelict. With great vision, they designed and planted a series of ‘rooms’. Each room had a different character of colour or theme. They were influenced by the gardens of Gertrude Jekyll and Edwin Lutyens but their hand is evident when the garden was completed. It was first opened to the public in 1938 and has been ever popular, possibly one of the most famous in England.

The National Trust took over Sissinghurst, a grade I listed site, in 1967 and is definitely a garden well worth visiting. This is the 2nd of two postings.

I have a much needed day off, so was able to explore our garden and enjoy some of the tulips that are flowering. Hope you enjoy your day, and thanks for visiting:)

There are several granite formations on top of Stowe’s hill, this is one of them looking East from Cheesewring. They are natural geological formations, a rock outcrop of granite slabs formed by weathering.

It's probably one of the coolest places in the world for photography. I could have stayed on that helicopter all day long. Now that I have all the heli-jacking techniques I learned from GTA4, I might just try it the next time!
