This is my current computer workstation.
My current desk is a (gasp) rubbermaid-ish picnic table (yes that's a $2,000 30" Apple Cinema Display sitting on top). This is just pathetic, I know.
After I rendered this video I had to transcode it which took another couple of hours. Then of course uploading (twice) took a few more hours. Lots of time goes into editing. Even more time goes into rendering, transcoding, uploading and publishing.
Teens have joined us once again for a great week of filming, directing, producing, and editing.
They are working alongside professional media artists and actors to bring their story ideas to life.

I've been re-writing the conceptual story boards for this as best as I can remember. In the larger scheme of things I do have visuals that *were* saved. As another round of randomness would have it, i'd forgotten to empty the audio from my camera and still have the translation/voice sessions that Linda helped me out with. With that, I think there's enough to move on & start again using the raw footage/audio that's left. I hope to hear back from Vláďa & Igi about music & possibly getting another demo CD if I get the go ahead.
On a geeky note, with a personal deadline of spring 2009 i've pulled my 3d tools off the shelf and am brushing up on my vfx/compositing skills. I hope to add a few "organic" elements only where I think they may fit in..

Transitions and effects give your videos life and make them worth watching. Transitions blend scenes together and effects are added to change how your video actually appears. To add transitions first open the transitions panel with the Sceneline selected. Drag and drop the effect you want in the transitions panel between scenes. If you do this correctly you will see the associated icon highlighted in blue between your scene clips.

Description:
- The Mac Pro is connected to the Cinema Display 20'' on the left, and I control it via Teleport from my MBP the external wired Apple keyboard and Logitech MX Revolution (on a Steelpad Qck mousepad).
- The TV is on that cart hooked up to a camera (Canon XL1) and I use it to preview my editing work on the Mac Pro (Premiere).
- That little box with a blue LCD display is a FireStore FS-4 and it's connected to the camera and the Mac Pro and basically digitizes stuff from the camera's tape and I can then just copy the files from it to the Mac Pro for editing. Time/CPU saver! :)
- From the 2 external cases on top of the Mac Pro, one is mine (Time Machine and general file storage - 750Gb+500Gb - along with my portable 320Gb from WD that is sitting between the phone and the MBP stand) and the other one is part of the Mac Pro "workstation" (a 750Gb HDD - backups only, MP has 2 750GB internally).
Note 1: That Mac Pro has 2x Quad-Core 2.8Ghz CPUs and 10GB (!!) of RAM. It's a beauty! ;D
Note 2: The printer you see on the right side is a Canon C1... AMAZING press-like printer! :D

We're certainly not done yet, but as I'm able to really start using Novacut, I'm very happy with the dynamic UI approach we've taken. One place that I think really stands out is not having one (or more) "playback windows" always taking up space. As a result, when we're actually doing playback, we can fill a whole lot of the screen with video output.
