The CARICOM Secretariat Staff Talent Exhibition 2015 was declared opened by the CARICOM Secretary-General, Ambassador Irwin LaRocque, on Wednesday 25 November in the Large Conference Room at the 11:00 a.m. Opening Ceremony of the event.
The Welcome Remarks were delivered by Mr. Delmar Tobin, Senior Project Officer, Human Resource Management (HRM).
Staff Talent 2015 is being observed under the theme, "Utilizing Talents, Boosting Economies".
Present at the Opening Ceremony were: Mrs. Sandra LaRocque, wife of CARICOM SG; Dr. Douglas Slater, ASG Joseph Cox, Ambassador Gail Mathurin, Ms. Myrna Bernard and other Members of EMC and SMC; several Staff Members from the CCS HQ, CCS Annex and the OTN Office, Barbados.

After the Opening Ceremony, everyone moved to view the various displays in Art, Craft, Horticulture, Designing, Multi-Media, Photography, Collectibles and a special presentation of Hydroponics Farming, as demonstrated by Mr. Ian Cole, Project Office, Administrative Services Unit.
The Staff Talent Exhibition will continue until Friday 27 November 2015 with How-To-Show, Culinary, Dance-A-Thon, Dance, Mixology, Grill Master, Fashion Display and other activities.
The Cake Boss created a "Technology Cake" for Avaya featuring edible communications equipment and conference table (in red). Later, Buddy holds a videoconference with an Avaya executive using the multi-layer cake itself! As seen on the July 25th episode of TLC's hit TV show "Cake Boss."

January 17, 2024. The red from the rising sun was reflected in the snow coating the trees for only a few moments this morning before it climbed above the clouds. As a result I had that "Good morning starshine.." song in my head all day. Longish day working in the office; wrote an article about copyright and AI in the morning and attended a long research ethics board meeting (by videoconference - yes, I drive into the city to attend meetings by videoconference) in the afternoon. Also a Costco trip.
2018-05-25: It's Friday, and nothing gets you into that weekend spirit quite like a WebEx meeting! Don't forget to dress business casual - we mustn't get too relaxed.

We had a meeting with all the faculty of APU's educational technology meeting. Most people would dread an all-day Saturday meeting. I, however, always look forward to them. There are so many great minds (from San Diego to Ventura) that come together... good ideas always result.
This shot was taken while we were troubleshooting the webcam. One colleague had to skype in, so she got to be on the new, giant tv.
