Già dal giorno del mio arrivo a Boa Vista ho cominciato ad interessarmi per qualche escursione in mare e la capo villaggio mi aveva iscritto all'unica escursione marina prevista che si svolgeva il quinto giorno, ma quando arrivò la giornata fatidica lei mi infornò che l'escursione non si faceva perchè non si era raggiunto il numero minimo di iscrizioni. Così mi detti da fare per conto mio e riuscii a trovare un catamarano che portava un gruppo di tedeschi in un paio di spiagge a tre ore di distanza dal porto. Ma il catamarano era in porto e noi, dalla spiaggia del Resort, dovevamo raggiungerlo in un breve tragitto su un gommone che, come vedete dal video, ballava il rock and roll sul mare sempre agitato che circonda l'isola. Io m'ero sistemato all'estrema poppa e, con le mani che reggevano la Nikon, per non finire fuoribordo dovevo reggermi con gambe e piedi stretti ai lati del natante. Pertanto scusate se il video è alquanto traballante, ma forse questo lo rende più vero e più interessante

So I look out on my own and managed to find a catamaran that was taking a group of Germans turists to a couple of beaches three hours away from the port. But the catamaran was in port and we, from the Resort's beach, had to reach it in a short trip on a dinghy that, as you can see from the video, was rocking and rolling on the always rough sea that surrounds the island. I had settled at the far stern and, with my hands holding the Nikon, to avoid ending up overboard I had to hold on with my legs and feet close to the sides of the dinghy. So sorry if the video is a bit shaky, but maybe this makes it more real and interesting

I managed to get within six feet of these amazing animals on the last couple of days of my trip. No hide just standing with them with a fine midge net covering my head an essential part of my kit, as I would not be able to stay still otherwise. Taken at night. The Badger is still behind the tree but is having a shake and a scratch getting the midges off.

King Power Mahanakorn (คิง เพาเวอร์ มหานคร) is known as Thailand’s tallest tower. This highest observation deck is 314 metres at its peak. The interactive lift to the top is fantastic and the speed is also unbelievable. Once up, the view of the city is breataking. You can sit and have a drink or something to eat and enjoy the view. Buy and get a free drink is reasonable so as the picnic set sandwich. Although it’s fairly small, the skywalk or the glass deck is definitely not for the faint-hearted.
