Das Foto entstand heute in der Krippe. Unsere Kinder feiern Fasnacht/ Fasching und alles ist schön bunt. Heute hat die Gruppenleiterin mit den Kindern Donuts selber gemacht. Erst durften sie helfen den Teig zu machen und am Nachmittag konnten sie ihren eigenen Donut verzieren, mit Schokolade, Streusel, Gummibärchen und Smarties....hmmmm, war das fein!

This is SO not me! But I've enjoyed looking at past macro photos and trying new and more vibrant ways of photography.

Minimalism often refers to anything that is spare or stripped to its essentials. I tried to use one bright item on a vibrant background.

And now for something completely different!

Actually I wasn't aware this existed until I did some looking on the internet and found out that the 2 X 2 Rubik Cube does exist. I'm not sure this is solvable but it fits under the three inch rule for the Macro Mondays group. I've always loved the Rubik cube and was quite proficient at solving it back in my college days. It won me many a beer in speed solving competitions with other nerdy engineering and science types. For this week's shot, the cube sat on a stand with a cyan paper background and I shot straight down. Only natural sun light with white screens to cut down reflections was used. I shot the whole cube with a 15 image photo stack, merged in Photoshop and then isolated the 8 cubes shown here.

Size: Each individual block is 0.75" x 0.75" or 1.5" x 1.5" for the cube. The tricky part comes in the projected length given the cube is shot at an angle. Best I can measure, the max projected width is 2.25" and height is 2.5".
