I found this lovely vertical landscape in the Needles of Custer National Park, SD! I like the tall vertical pines in forefront framing the Needles rock formations with their vertical design.

Very textural as well!

Mina Concha II en Gallarta

La intensa actividad extractiva de mineral de hierro en este lugar de la Zona Minera propició la aparición de la explotación a cielo abierto de mayores dimensiones de Bizkaia, cuya forma de cono invertido era típica de las cortas mineras. Tanto es así, que hoy día en el fondo de este gran corte geológico de 700m de largo, 350m de ancho y 150 m de profundidad, se encuentra la cota más baja del País Vasco al aire libre: -37 m bajo el nivel del mar. La Corta de Bodovalle o Concha II se ubica en una zona que venía siendo explotada desde finales del siglo XIX.

La mina cerró en 1993 (última mina de hierro en activo de Bizkaia) tras haber continuado las labores bajo tierra que comenzaran en los años 60, horadando más de 50 km mediante el método de cámaras y pilares. Llegó a ser la segunda explotación de hierro más grande de Europa.

I was anyway hiking through this forest near the twin lakes (Lagoas Empadadas), in the western side of the Island. The ground really holds it's moisture in , when we touched the moss it was soaking wet, the trees must really love this climate.
