Collage done inside a ruled, soft cover Moleskine; images are scans from books I had as a child (the background is the Dendera Temple complex in Egypt, the various minerals are from the DK Eyewitness Book Crystal & Gem); quote is by Sylvia Plath.
The other scan was bothering me night and day so I had to scan one where the bottom wasn't cut off.
This version has been cropped on the right so that the bulk of the tree is the right third of the photo, as suggested by Jane and Allison. This is Lake Creek viewed from a trail footbridge in Laurance Rockefeller Preserve, located in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming.

Back into the past...
Because of the lack of good weather and new data it's sometimes nice to look a bit back.
When browsing through my old images I thought: "What is the image in the last few years that I liked the most?"
I think it was this one. It shows Barnard 344 in the constellation of Cygnus, near Sadr. This one even became an Apod in april 2015: apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap150422.html
Especially the colours in the image and the nice contrast between the nebulae and the area without gas/dust is what I liked.
I really hope that when weather permits I can take some day an image like this again, because the sky is so beautiful.

I'm often asked how I shoot an Image and how I choose to edit. Here are 3 different versions of the same image from the same DNG file which version do you prefer?

One of my blog readers suggested using black for these and I love how they turned out! Very bold but I think they look much more "of a piece" if you know what I mean, instead of the butterfly just looking stuck on. Hurrah for lovely people suggesting things! :)

Strobist: Once Canon Speedlite 540ez to my left and another one behind and above me. Triggered with Cyber Sync gear.
So here is the comparison pic with the background added in for uniformity with the wall and putting this in made the drop shadow look rubbish so I converted it into a 'traditional' 3D. I don't dislike this version by any means, but I personally prefer the former.
Interested to hear opinions.
If you didn't like the full version- enjoy this one. Jack, posing in the middle of the creepy woods. And I snap a photo. Then, no lie, we heard weird voices- of old people. We ran, I left him. Hahah (I'm such a good friend) but later we found out it was our Kindergarden Teacher. Well his Kindergarden teacher, Mrs. Brown. My Kindergarden Teacher was Mrs. Barbra, I remember her because she gave me a dollar once. Hahah.
