The Vendetta. Launched at the end of December, 1914. This is about the Yacht Vendetta which was bought by brothers, Eric and Gill Douglas in equal shares in 1921 (Eric's notes). They sailed it as Port Phillip 5 and Royal Brighton Yacht Club as B18 in about 1921. In 1921 they likely spent some time working on it and sailing for pleasure. They commenced racing it in 1921. The designer was Charles Drown Mower.

Eric Douglas was a member of the Port Phillip Yacht Club at a young age (at least by 1922 - probably by 1918) and had joined the Brighton Yacht Club by 1920 (Eric's notes). His first serious sailing was at the age of about 13.

Other boats owned by Eric in his youth (besides the Vendetta) included - "Beetle" (12 foot yacht), "Katinka" (18 foot half decker), "Iris" (yacht), and "Roslyn" (yacht).

From Newspaper reports Reg Woods sailed the Vendetta at least from when it was launched in December, 1914 until December, 1917. In 1917 Reg Woods was Commodore of the Port Phillip Club and Varuna mentioned in the article above was also sailing at the Port Phillip Club.

From the Sandringham Yacht Club site "Sandringham Yacht Club’s (SYC) history can be traced back to the Port Philip Yacht Club (PPYC), which was originally established in 1903 adjacent to the current public jetty. The present day club burgee was the original burgee of the old PPYC, founded at Picnic Point in 1903. In 1911 Sandringham Yachting and Angling Club founded. In 1912 Sandringham Yachting and Angling Club was renamed Sandringham Yacht Club, with the first SYC racing season conducted in 1913/1914.

In 1931 a devastating fire to PPYC resulted in the amalgamation of PPYC and SYC in 1932. Another fire in 1955 totally destroyed the original SYC clubhouse with the Club losing all of its records and memorabilia together with most of its documented history..."

Some newspaper articles, for example this one, say that it was Reg Woods who built the Vendetta rather than it actually being built by Fred Woods. But his family tree clearly shows that he was Fred and not Reg.

V for Vendetta is a 2005 dystopian political action film. It is based on the 1988–89 DC Vertigo Comics limited series of the same title. The film, set in a future where a fascist totalitarian regime has subjugated the UK, centres on V , an anarchist and masked freedom fighter who attempts to ignite a revolution through elaborate terrorist acts,
