Class 1600 No 1607 VLISSINGEN waiting departure from S' Hertogenbosch with Train No 959 the 1526 Zandvoort to Heerlen. The writing on the side of the locomotive says "lk trok de langste reizigerstrein ter wereld". On 19th February 1989 this locomotive hauled the longest passenger train in the world made up of 60 coaches, the record didn't last long as on 27th April 1991 the Belgians ran one of 70 coaches.

Quorn Station, Leicestershire, looks in very good condition in the early days which is more than could be said for my 1962 Mini, WCH162. The AA man who attended a breakdown shortly after this - or even maybe on this occasion en route between here and Thorne - after getting the engine going again advised me to drive the vehicle straight home, drop off our belongings & then continue immediately on to the scrapyard.
Yardley Wood Based 2710 is seen working route 12 in this 2005 photo. 2710 was withdrawn in 2009 sadley going for scrap.

The ZR sold very well to the younger market throughout its production run. Sold as the hot hatch version of the Rover 25 and powered by engines of 1.4 S4, 1.8 S4 and 1,8 S4 VVC versions of the Rover K series petrol engine and a 2.0 S4 Turbo Diesel
