I guess it's been eleven odd months since I've done any vector art, where does the time go?
I'm not sure, but I'm thinking WoW probably has something to do with it.

Here's my version of this famous art deco travel poster by A.M. Cassandre. My version is created in Adobe Illustrator.
The smoke was difficult to replicate in Adobe Illustrator without using a custom scatter brush, so I played around with gradients, feathering, and texturizing tools as a substitute.

Simple mask pattern design. Plenty of white space required as these are to be printed on medical grade masks. Not a fabric design.

Friday morning I got the idea for this one while driving to work - at least the major details, but I just made a note of it in my notebook to work on later. I put it off because although I knew I wanted a "cafe au lait" swirly pattern on the paper, I knew it'd take me a while to draw something out that I'd be happy with.
Then when I got into work I was checking my RSS feeds and stumbled across a link to this website on the evil associations with paisley. After skimming the site, I knew I had to incorporate paisley into my next drawing. Not because I believe a word of it, but because some nut believes it.
Coincidentally I was in fresh need of a swirly pattern, and so I got right to work on this drawing when I got home and finished it last night. I love it when things come together!
