Northern water snakes (Nerodia sipedon) are some of the most common water snakes in the United States. The reptiles’ bodies can be varying shades of gray, tan, buff, or brown, and the juvenile snakes are often more brightly colored than the adults. As adults, they have dark bands and are often mistaken for copperheads or cottonmouths, but these snakes are not venomous. However, when agitated they may flatten their bodies and bite. Fully grown water snakes are between 2 and 4.5 feet (0.6 and 1.4 meters) long, with most measuring about 3.5 feet (one meter) long.

Celebrations at main Temples in Vrindavan
Although there are around 5000 temples in Vrindavan but the main temples are Banke Bihari Temple, Rangnathji Temple, Shri krishna Balram Temple, Radharaman Temple, ISKCON Temple etc. These temples have an itenarary for the entire day, with timings fixed for various ceremonies and poojas all day long. Darshans are open for devotees even during Abhishek (holy bath) of lord Krishna.
According to legend Lord Krishna was born in Mathura but he spent a long time in Vrindavan, where he performed rasleelas with his beloved Gopis more than 5000 years ago. A famous folklore associated with the place is that Lord Krishna till date ascends to perform rasleela with the gopis.(cowgirls or milkmaids) The place becomes alive during Janmashtami with rasleelas being performed in the premises during the daytime.
Millions of pilgrims come to see it and get darshan in the 5000 temples there.

Nanda Devi temple is located at a distance of 3 to 4 Kms from Munsiary town and is connected by road where one can go to see this beautiful Temple and also to get the best view of Panchchachuli peaks. In a clear sky the view is spectacular. From here the views of all the five peaks are clearly separated from each other. Nanda Devi temple is located at the center surrounded by green meadow and tall trees. This is an excellent location for nature lovers. There are viewpoints available in different direction to enjoy the spectacular view of snow capped peaks and surrounding valleys.

Origin and background of the cult/deity :
Parvati (Shail Putri), the daughter of Hills and the consort of Lord Shiva, is known as Nanda in Garhwal & Kumaon areas. The popularity of the Goddess is understandable, as the highest peak of the district has been identified with the name of the deity, also several Nanda temples are situated at all the prominent places in Garhwal and Kumaon like Nauti, Chandpur,Kurur, Devrada, Kulsari, Nandkesri, Lohajang, Shila Samudra, Nandakot Vaidini, Srinagar, Sink, Devikhet, Nandprayag, Gopeshwar, Helang, Lata Niti and Badrinath. Similarly the Kumaon region include Nanda Devi temples located at Nainital, Almora, Baijnath, Shuwbhgash, Munsiyari, Doonagiri, Jageshwar, Bageshwar and Ranikhet.
The genesis of Nanda Devi is not very clear. Folk lyrics suggest that Nanda was a princess of the Chanda dynasty of Almora.
Some people associate the Goddess with YogMaya, the daughter of Nanda, who replaced the eighth issue of Vasudev (father of Krishna) and who escaped from the hands of her assailant, Kansa and forewarned him of his impending death at the hands of Lord Krishna. There is no mention of Nanda in the Puranas or other scriptures. However, certain later inscriptions mention a Goddess with names similar to Nanda. The Goddess finds mention in Sanskrit literature. Some very old statues found in Mathura show one Goddess as Eknansha. Accordingly, some people believe that the same Goddess was subsequently regarded as Nanda.
Naini (of Nainital) and Naina (of Himachal Pradesh) also appear to be variants of the same Goddess. There are ancient temples of the Goddess at about twenty places all over Garhwal. Similar temples are found in Almora region also.

The Adiyogi Shiva statue is a 112-foot-tall (34 m) statue of Hindu deity Shiva located at Coimbatore in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Designed by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, founder of the Isha Foundation, it was built by the foundation and weighs around 500 tonnes (490 long tons; 550 short tons). Sadhguru said that the statue is for inspiring and promoting yoga, and is named Adiyogi, which means "the first yogi", because god Shiva is known as the originator of yoga.

Maharashtra has a lively tradition of song, dance, music and theatre. Vasudev, a dance form, is performed by people believed to be incarnation of Lord Krishna. Bedecked in the distinctive headgear of peacock feathers, performers sing Vasudev geets and with nimble, delicate dance steps, whirl around presenting anecdotes from Lord Krishna's life in exchange for alms. Soothing, melodious notes float through the villages, particularly near Jalgaon and Dhule. On auspicious occasions like the birth of a child, dancers might hold night- long performances called gondhals. Elsewhere, rustic actors could be narrating lively stories through the bharud, an enactment of the written musical compositions of poet- saints, and singers could be crooning powadas , inspiring ballads.
