Windmill the “Valk” is a scaffolding mill and also a museum on the Lammermarkt in Leiden (Holland).
The current stone scaffolding mill is the third mill to have stood on this site and is the last original mill of the nineteen that once stood on the Leiden city walls.
In 1611 the post mill "De Valck" was built on the Valkenburger stronghold. In 1667 a wooden tower mill was built here. In 1743 a higher stone smock mill was built. The initiator this year was Adrianus van Deventer and his son Pieter placed the first stone.
The stone scaffolding mill was originally equipped with six pairs of stones. There were also two houses in the mill, initially for both owners, later for the miller and his servant. In 1869 both houses were rebuilt into one house; the current furnishings largely date from that period.
Since 2 June 1966, the mill has been in use as a municipal mill museum. Since 2000, De Valk has also been able to grind again.

- Het Paard van Marken ("Horse of Marken") is the round iron lighthouse of Marken - The Netherlands..
- The current lighthouse was designed by J. Valk, provided with oil lamps according to the design by Jan van der Heyden and built in 1839 on the remains of the former square stone lighthouse from around 1700.
- In 1814 the tower was given a mist bell, been replaced by a foghorn in 1919.
Een markant wit bouwwerk op de oostpunt kenmerkt het schiereiland Marken: het Paard van Marken. Deze vuurtoren werd in 1839 gebouwd op een oude vierkante fundering uit 1700. Het ontwerp is van J. Valk. Een overblijfsel uit die tijd is een ingemetselde steen met daarop wapens, dolfijnen en het bouwjaar. De vuurtoren met haar karakteristieke vorm heeft een nog werkende bronsmotor, een misthoorn en een mistbel. || A striking white structure on the eastern tip characterizes the Marken Peninsula: the Horse of Marken. This lighthouse was built in 1839 on an old square foundation from 1700. The design is by J. Valk. A remnant from that time is a masonry stone with weapons, dolphins and the year of construction. The lighthouse with its characteristic shape has a still working bronze engine, a foghorn and a fog bell.

In 1743 werd door het stadsbestuur toestemming gegeven om een nog hogere stellingmolen te bouwen, ditmaal van steen. Dit is de huidige 29 meter hoge molen "de Valk", waarvan de romp in slechts 3 maanden tijd werd neergezet. Er waren maar liefst 4 koppels maalstenen in de molen aanwezig, wat een flinke capaciteit opleverde. Door de afname van de Leidse bevolking en de opkomst van gemotoriseerde maalinrichtingen, kregen de molens het tegen het einde van de 19e eeuw steeds moeilijker. Veel molens zijn in die tijd afgebroken. De Valk bleef echter tot ver in de 20e eeuw meel produceren; zij het de laatste jaren niet meer met windkracht.

The Lighthouse of Marken, popularly the Horse of Marken, was designed by Jan Valk and built in 1839 and is located at the eastern tip of the island of Marken. The lighthouse has a light height of 16 meters and a light range of 9 nautical miles. The light guardian's house next to the tower is inhabited.

De Faun is een bedrijfsverzamelgebouw en een gemeentelijk monument in de Nederlandse stad Groningen. Het staat op de hoek van de Herestraat en het Gedempte Zuiderdiep. De Groninger stadsbeeldhouwer Willem Valk verfraaide het gebouw met ornamenten in diabassteen en diverse mythologische figuren en verwijzingen naar het werk van levensverzekeringsmaatschappij De Utrecht, die opdracht tot de bouw had gegeven. Hier steekt een ornament af tegen de gevel van de C&A. Het uitzicht zal op korte termijn veranderen, dan wordt het na-oorlogse C&A-gebouw vervangen door nieuwbouw.

De Faun is a collective business building and a municipal monument in the Dutch city of Groningen. It stands on the corner of Herestraat and Gedempte Zuiderdiep. The Groningen city sculptor Willem Valk decorated the building with ornaments in diabas stone and various mythological figures and references to the work of the life insurance company De Utrecht, which had commissioned the construction. Here an ornament stands out against the facade of the C&A. The outlook will change in the short term, when the post-war C&A building will be replaced by a new building.
