Over the last five months, it has been an honor to help at the Jones County COVID-19 Vaccination Drive Through Clinic with other individuals from across the State of North Carolina, from local residents, health department staff, emergency personal, and retired volunteers to members of the National Guard. Jones County is a very rural area in eastern North Carolina and because their health department, at the start of the pandemic, only had six employees who covered the day to day operations, COVID-19 was a huge burden. They requested help from the state so I volunteered to be deployed to Jones County to help with the implementation of the vaccine administration. It was a fantastic experience and I thoroughly enjoyed working with such a wonderful group of individuals dedicated to the public health and safety of the residents of Jones County and the NC Community, as many individuals drove from other counties and bordering states to receive the free vaccine. Whether it was a cold day and we had to bundle up or a bright sunny day where I forgot sunscreen and got a sun burn or having to wear a rain jacket to keep dry from the rain, we were there to help keep NC citizens healthy and end the pandemic. I was also thankful to be able to receive the COVID-19 vaccine during that time. If you want to get the vaccine, you have a spot, so take your shot! Find NC vaccine locations here: myspot.nc.gov/

Florida Winning CV19 “Death (Rate) Race” under DeathSantis - IMRAN™
DeathSantis “Winning!” Florida highest rate of deaths from Covid when total dead was 600,000. Now it hit 700,000. Lowest vaccination rate states killing off more of their population. Irony. Science deniers doing evolution’s job by self-cleansing the gene pool. I’m sorry but I’m out of my sympathy supply for those ridiculing the vaccines and mask mandates while using up hospital beds before croaking.

#VaccinesWork and Vaccines bring us closer.
India, 2017: (Standing at centre) Naazma Begum, a rag picker, is a staunch vaccine advocate in her close-knit, urban slum community – where most mothers do not understand the long-term health benefits of immunization. Today, a growing number of unvaccinated children live in poor, densely populated urban communities, where immunization coverage is limited. India’s immunization programme reaches about 26 million children nationwide with vaccines covering 12 diseases. #VaccinesWork.

South Sudan, 2020: “To keep children healthy, parents must bring them to the health centres for vaccinations. That is how we prevent infections,” says Lucy, holding her boy Amin. The world has made such tremendous progress that, in 2018, 86% of the world’s children received the vaccines they need to grow up healthy. But unacceptable gaps remain. Here in South Sudan, just 44% of children receive the recommended vaccines. That leaves communities at serious risk of outbreaks and, as the COVID-19 pandemic has shown, an outbreak anywhere is a threat to countries everywhere. We are only as safe as the most vulnerable communities. So as we celebrate progress for children like Amin, we must also commit to reaching those who have been left behind.
