Back in 1970 I had a VW bug just like this color with red lightning stripes. Went every where. Well my boyfriend then (Dave, my husband now) bought this for me for my birthday gift and I've cherished it since. Our longest trip in it was in 1972 out to Yellowstone and back with a rack on top with a tent and gear. Just two happy hippies with not a care in the world. Boones farm wine and Marlboro cigs. Best not keep going...............
A toy VW beetle I bought for photographing during my 365 last year but I never used it.
I thought it could have an outing today for #14/119 Beetles
Volkswagen Beetle
With this car I learned to drive in the early 1970s. At that time, two thirds, if not three quarters, of all cars on the roads of my home country, Germany, were still VW Beetles. At the same time, however, the decline of this successful model was already beginning. In 1974, the great era of the Volkswagen Golf began, which finally replaced the Beetle as the world's best-selling car in 2002. de.wikipedia.org/wiki/VW_K%C3%A4fer
