VII is an unknown entity among the vampires of Vampire: The Requiem. They are a covenant in the loosest possible sense of the word, and might not even be a covenant in the sense of a political/spiritual organisation. It is unknown if VII is a true covenant, a particularly insular clan, or merely a strange cult among the Kindred.

The name Seven, by which Kindred recognise the sect, originated due to the use of a symbol left behind at the scenes of many attacks upon the Kindred - the Roman Numeral seven - VII. Members of VII are fanatics on a mission to exterminate all Kindred who are not a part of themselves. It believes itself to be a legacy of vampires which exists purely to destroy the betrayers who brought about the pain of their current existence. (Source: whitewolf.fandom.com/wiki/VII)

A clan of vampires renowned for stealth, brute strength, their unnerving social manner and their hideous physical disfigurements. Stealthy, strong and terrifying. Nosferatu are masters of Nightmare, the Kindred Discipline of fear and terror. They are sometimes called Haunts. (Source: whitewolf.fandom.com/wiki/Nosferatu_(VTR) )

Lords and Masters of the Kindred, the Ventrue are the Kindred's most fervent social climbers, frequently seen at Elysium vying with one another to rise to the top of the pyramid. Regal, commanding and aristocratic, yet also prone to falling into madness, this clan gives rise to legends of Damned Lords and rulers in isolated, lofty castles. Ventrue are masters of Dominate, the Kindred Discipline of mental subjugation. They are sometimes called Lords. (Source: whitewolf.fandom.com/wiki/Ventrue_(VTR) )

Vermont Railway train 263 is seen passing Jersey Girls Dairy and crossing Thompson Road near MP B16.5 on the Green Mountain Railroad's Bellows Falls Subdivision. Leading the way on this historic former Rutland mainline which opened between Bellows Falls and Burlington in 1849 is SD70M-2 431 built in December 2006 for the Florida East Coast, and one of only two six axle units on the roster. She is trailed by three geeps (GMTX 2215, CLP 204, VTR 207) and thirty cars destined for Riverside Yard in Rockingham.

Mekhet are a clan in Vampire: the Requiem with an affinity to darkness. The hallmarks of the clan are stealth, finesse and wisdom.

There is often a certain amount of finesse and refinement in whatever Mekhet do. Mekhet can appear as stealthy information-gatherers, spies, assassins or scholars; but just as well they can be aristocrats making their mark in the societies of the damned. A Mekhet bodyguard for example is unlikely to rely on brute force, but rather know an ornate fighting style. A Mekhet thief is gracious or invisible, not a sloppy vandal. To the others, Mekhet appear to be the most ordinary of the kindred, the ones who seem to have the least to distinguish them from other vampires. They watch and hide, and the other clans don't seem to take much notice of them. Because Mekhet alone from the major clans have no powers of control over animals or people, they prefer to work in secret behind the scenes, via conspiracies and shadow cults. The Gangrel are one of the five clans of Kindred known for being primal, hardy and savage. They embody the myths of vampires turning into animals or otherwise changing forms. This clan is more closely connected to their Beast than other clans. Many Kindred believe that the Gangrel clan is an old one, but due to the Gangrel's bestial nature, few records exist that can connect their origins to any specific time period. While the murky pre-history of the Kindred contains any number of legends about bestial vampires, not all of these things coincide with the hallmarks of the Gangrel. 7 Years ago we find CMQ 3812 North hauling the Pan Am OCS from Northern Maine Jct to BVJ, then west across the Moosehead and Sherbrooke Subs to Farnham, Quebec.

At Farnham a VTR GP40-2 was added and the train ran down to East Deerfield where the VTR power was cut off and the train continued back to Maine.

The intent of the trip was to open up a new gateway, with Pan Am's successful bid to get trackage rights to White River Jct. Along with VTR's Washington County RR and the CMQ, the plan was to reopen the embargoed Saint-Guillaume Sub which hadn't seen a train since the MMA days, to connect with CN at Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec.

The plan was for freight to be interchanged with CN then, run to Farnham, down to Newport, then to White River Jct over WACR, to Pan Am at WRJ, then to East Deerfield and points south. Ideally, competing with SLR, NECR, CP and to some extent CSX's routing. However things never panned out.

The following year Fortress sold CMQ to CP which had little interest in the plan. Pan Am was sold in 2020 to CSX and taken over in 2022. Effectively putting an end to the proposed route.

This is Links VTR, an orphaned joey. He was rescued near Link Road and then carried home on a Honda VTR, safely tucked into the hospital supervisor's bike jacket.

This photo was taken while Linksie was being lovingly cared for at home by his human foster Mum, Barb, before continuing his R&R at the hospital. Last year he also endured another mishap when he fell from a tree and dented his nose. These days though Linksie is a plump, happy and healthy little juvenile koala whose earlier setbacks are now far behind him!

Links is a favourite among we Koala Hospital paparazzi as you can see by all the Flickr photos tagged Links VTR. You can 'adopt' Linksie from the Koala Hospital website. Adoptions are a primary source of funding for the hospital to continue their critical work. They receive no government funding.

I didn't take this photo -- it's a scan of a printed snapshot, so it was originally very flat and dark. I cleaned it up in Picasa and then "ortonized" it by following these instructions.

Vermont Railway GP40FH-2 313, former NJ Transit 4137, sits in the late afternoon sun in North Walpole yard. The 313 is scheduled for repairs this winter and an eventual return to service in 2023.

On January 17th, the last ever Ringling Brothers circus train made it's way north on the FEC mainline. VTR 431 and FEC 814 provided the power, here seen shooting through St. Augustine. The Vermont Railway unit was interchanged to FEC on Monday in Miami, where brickbuilder711 caught it leading P629 earlier in the day.
