Voordat we huiswaarts keerden naar Nederland van ons tripje naar de regio van Halberstadt werd eerst nog een paar uurtjes gespot langs de lijn tussen Hannover en Braunschweig. Het was namelijk redelijk weer, dat dachten we tenminste. Er bleken uiteindelijk toch een hoop wolken in de lucht te zijn. Dus was het wel erg veel geluk hebben met de zon. Ook is het maar afwachten wat er rijdt aan leuke treinen hier. De ene dag rijden de leuke treinen af en aan en de andere dag rijdt er geen moer. Een zaterdag staat niet al te goed bekend om de leuke treinen op deze lijn, maar dat mocht de pret niet drukken. Je weet het immers nooit. Nadat we de ochtend gespendeerd hadden in Wierthe werd er naar nog een leuke stek gereden aan deze mooie lijn. Zo zijn we neergestreken bij de bekende stek van Peine. Deze stek is bekend van beide kanten. Aan het einde van de ochtend kun je mooi treinen fotograferen vanuit Lehrte en als de zon ver is doorgedraaid kun je aan het einde van de middag treinen fotograferen vanuit Braunschweig. Wij stonden er voor treinen vanuit Lehrte. En nadat het in Wierthe ook al doorreed met de goederentreinen was het op deze stek weer raak. In een uurtje passeerde er flink wat treinen. Ook VPS kwam langs met de bekende ertstrein tussen die rijden tussen Hamburg Hansaport en Beddingen. De wagensamenstelling variëren vaak. Dit keer waren het Innofreight wagens. Fraaie wagens die je weinig ziet. Alleen de locs ervoor waren wat jammer. Het geheel heeft nog een klein stukje te gaan tot Beddingen.

Tijdens een meerdaags verblijf in de omgeving van Braunschweig om treinen te fotograferen op de Kbs 310, werd een goede locatie gevonden te Woltorf. Hier passeert richting Braunschweig VPS 1701 met een korte goederentrein.

Niet bijzonder op deze locatie, maar naar mijn idee wel altijd een foto waard zijn de ertstreinen van VPS. Hier zien we de 185 506+185 511 onderweg van Beddingen naar Hamburg (Waltershof Alte Süderelbe).
Im Harzvorland gibt es auch heute noch einiges an Güterverkehr. Während DB Schenker einige Bahnhöfe werktäglich im Einzelwagenverkehr bedient, sorgen die Werke der Salzitter AG in Salzgitter und Ilsenburg für das Hauptaufkommen im Güterverkehr.
Zur Versorgung der Werke untereinander verkehren täglich mehrere Güterzugpaare, für dessen Traktion die Verkehrsbetriebe Peine-Salzgitter (VPS) zuständig sind. Während die meisten Züge von Salzgitter den Weg über die eigene Infrastruktur bis Salzgitter Bad nehmen, verkehrt der EK 53923 von Peine Gbf nach Ilsenburg über Braunschweig Rbf - Wolfenbüttel - Vienenburg nach Ilsenburg.
Zur Mittagszeit des 04.10.14 hatte VPS 1703 den EK 53923 von Peine Gbf nach Ilsenburg zu befördern und passierte dabei vor der Kulisse der Werlaburg das Einfahrsignal des Bahnhofs Schladen.

Foveon X3 has another interesting feature - it can change the size of the pixel (in the future, this technology will be called VPS). The VPS technology opens up new horizons for the cameras and cameras they are installed in. The uniqueness of the technology lies in the fact that the matrix can change its resolution by combining signals from several pixels into one, which allows us to perceive a group of pixels as one large pixel.
For example: a sensor of 2300 x 1500 pixels contains approximately 3.4 million pixels. If we combine all the pixels in 4 × 4 pixel groups using VPS technology, we would end up with a matrix of 575 × 375 pixels, but each of them would be 16 times larger than the nominal pixel. This would significantly increase the amount of light received by one pixel, and inevitably would lead to an increase in the sensitivity of the Foveon X3 matrix.
The most common possible configurations of pixel groups are:
2 x 2 pixels
4 x 4 pixels
1 x 2 pixels
Management of groups of pixels occurs through a complex scheme integrated into Foveon X3
Because Foveon X3 fixes the entire portion of the visible range at each pixel location, the pixels in the merged groups are full-color "highest-quality pixels."
Pixel grouping increases the "Useful signal / Noise ratio", allowing you to take full-color shots in low light with minimal color distortion. Thanks to VPS technology, it became possible to increase pixels, reducing their total number and resolution
Am 04.01.21 verkehrte zum ersten Mal der Kalkzug von VPS von Blankenburg (Harz) nach Salzgitter Hütte-Süd. Die MaK 1700BB der VPS (277 101 und 277 102) beschleunigten gerade den DGS 95442 aus dem Bf Heudeber-Danstedt gen Wernigerode Hbf.

Nach dem der Sonderzug nach Aschersleben durch gefahren war schaute ich im System nach wo der VPS Kalkzug nach Blankenburg war. Mit der Durchfahrtszeit durch Frellstedt ließ sich ahnen das dies nichts mehr wird. Wir packten unsere Sachen und gingen zum Haltepunkt Eggerdorf. Ein erneuter Blick nach 30min zeigte das besagter Zug mit einmal durch Magdeburg Sudenburg war.
Weitere 20min warten ließ sich HVLE 250 002 im Auftrag der VPS mit ihrem leer Kalkzug (DGS 69391 Hütte Süd - Blankenburg(Harz) Nord) in Eggersdorf bei bester Abendsonne ablichten.
Am 14. Februar 2019 bin ich morgens nach Emmendorf gefahren. Leider war der Güterverkehr mal wieder alles andere als berauschend. Außer der Metrans-Leistung mit PRESS 140er nach Leipzig fuhr nix brauchbares. Gegen Mittag habe ich die Stelle gewechselt und bin nach Medingen gefahren. Dabei bin ich am Getreidespeicher von Bad Bevensen vorbei gekommen. Ich traute meinen Augen nicht was ich dort sah. Da fehlte nämlich etwas in der Landschaft. Und zwar einige ziemlich große Bäume. Die Mannen von "DB Grünschnitt" hatten ganze Arbeit geleistet und den kompletten Bahndamm freigeschnitten. Das wollte ich mir später nochmal genauer ansehen. In Medingen angekommen lief es genauso wie am Vormittag. Wenn etwas an Güterzügen kam, dann nur rotes Drehstromgelumpe. Teilweise fuhr mehr als eine Stunde kein Gz gen Süden. Das war schon sehr anstrengend und so begab ich mich rechtzeitig an die obige Fotostelle und habe mit diversen Metronomen, ICE und Intercitys einige Varianten ausprobiert. Die Schatten war dann auch irgendwann ziemlich lang und ich musste etwas weiter aufs Feld laufen. Dann kam dann doch mal ein Güterzug vorbei. Der VPS-Kohlezug vom Hansaport nach Beddingen. Leider sind die Loks nicht gerade sauber gewesen. Aber trotzdem ich möchte auch die seit einer Ewigkeit wieder umsetzbare Fotostelle nicht vorenthalten. Ich bin gespannt wie lange die noch ohne weiteres machbar ist. Denn noch ist das Feld nicht bestellt auf dem ich gestanden habe...

Als laatste bij Vechelde op de fraaie morgen van 3 augustus 2018 kwam er weer een privaat in beeld. In dit geval betreft het opnieuw VPS. Alhoewel VPS voornamelijk heen en weer rijdt met 186'ers, beschikt het ook over diesellocs. In dit geval betrof het de 2 G1800'en 1702 en 1701 die hier met een korte trein de twee Nederlanders passeert op weg richting het oosten bij Vechelde.
VPS (Verkehrsbetriebe Peine-Salzgitter) verzorgt het rangeerwerk op het terrein van staalbedrijf Salzgitter AG. Voor het plaatsen van wagens op de verschillende spooraansluitingen beschikt VPS over locs van het type G6 van Vossloh (door VPS aangeduid als serie 600).
Op 8 mei 2015 heeft loc 31 een sleep wagens met staalrollen onder de kranen op de achtergrond vandaan gehaald. De speciale wagens zijn alleen toegelaten op de sporen van VPS. Even later duwt de loc de wagens via het afbuigende rechterspoor naar een van de vele loodsen van dit enorme bedrijf. Het gebouwtje op de voorgrond werd ooit gebruikt als weegbrug.

Na de HUPAC 182, kwam VPS weer aangereden, met ditmaal een sleep Falns.
De 185 506 & 509 passeren hier de omgeving van Peine en gaat zo verder richting Lehrte en dan zo omhoog richting Hamburg. Daar worden de Falsn weer beladen met erts of kolen, ik denk zelf kolen en die gaan dan weer terug richting Beddingen. Zo pendelen ze heen en weer.

Mit dem mehrmals täglich verkehrenden Kohlependel Hamburg-Waltershof Hansaport - Beddingen ist dieses für die Verkehrsbetriebe Peine Salzgitter (VPS) fahrende 185-Mintbombon-Doppel im warmen Abendlicht unterwegs. Aufgenommen bei Woltorf am 25. August 2016 mit der Leergarnitur auf dem Weg zum Massengutterminal "Hansaport" im Hamburger Hafen. Die Wagengarnitur besteht aus in den Niederlanden eingestellten Schüttgutwagen der Bauart Falns des Wagonvermieters "OnRail".
Aangezien de bewolking in Woltorf toenam werd er een riskante gok gewaagd; de verbindingsboog in Lehrte. Na een kleine 20 minuten rijden werd de stek al snel gevonden om in het laatste licht van de dag hopelijk een leuke trein te vangen. In de verte zagen we een dubbeltractie EBS met Wascosa graanwagens richting Peine rijden.... ***. Na een akelig stille periode was de enige fatsoenlijke trein VPS 186 249 die van de "verkeerde" kant kwam. Daarentegen was de belading, welke enkel bestond uit 20' containers, wel weer tof te noemen. Inpakken en naar huis! Lehrte, 9 februari 2018.

The consist was DB, Ermewa, On-Rail Shimmns plus a rake of CZ-CDC Res flats
Voor mijn 15de verjaardag had ik als verjaardagscadeau een weekend Hamburg gekregen. Zaterdag spotten op Hamburg-Harburg, en zondag naar Miniatur Wunderland. De eerste trein op Hamburg-Harburg was direct een klapper. De vers bestickerde VPS 186 126 passeert in z'n nieuwe huisstijl Hamburg-Harburg met aan de haak een containertrein uit de Hamburgse havens!
