Rebecca is vocalist and trumpeter and performed in a back patio of 'Pamenar' which seats about 30 people (uncomfortably 😄) Michael is Rebecca's long time partner, so I purposely included him in the photo. Kensington Jazz Festival was back after forced hiatus, the attendance was about 60% of previous years, but the concerts were 100% wonderful.

"Chouchou is a historic location in Second Life. Each of us has visited it at least once, and it enchanted us.
At the point of arrival, water, and an endless horizon seemingly infinite surround you.
When you activate music, it’s magic. The music is original to the authors of the location, more specifically: Juliet Heberle is a vocalist, while Arabesque Choch is a composer. The original music of Chouchou on the official website of the sim: chouchou.cc/music/.
Chouchou is known for its music and for the location of water that inspired many other sites, but it is right to remember that the sim hosts two other exciting spaces in the sky, Islamey, and Memento, accessible by a teleport located at the foot of the staircase that leads to the air.
Also, the authors of the location have made artistic videos of high level, and they are visible on their website at the following link: chouchou.cc/music/, under the heading “music videos.”
Today, reading on Facebook, I learned that Chouchou is in danger of closing down.
Many people are worried about this news because Chouchou is a symbol of Second Life, one of many, of course. However, one of the most significant. I hope that the Linden Lab will accept the invitation to preserve this place that for many Second Life users is a corner of peace, harmony, and therapy to the greyness of everyday life."

Laura Hubert was vocalist of popular rock group Leslie Spit Trio. She later turned to traditional jazz and blues and is pretty good at that too. I may have heard her first time 20 years ago and quite often since. She is loved by her Toronto audiences and by musician friends in Toronto. Here she is with trumpetist Kevin Ray Clark who just arrived from New Orleans. The whole weekend was full of great music in the old Gooderham Distillery, which became tourist attraction 20 years ago. It did not attract many Torontonians in the last decade or so; let's hope this programming is a change for the better.

A few quick pics I took of Sandra during our sound check before our concert at The Mesa Jazz and Blues Theater in Mesa, Arizona.

Searching for the source of loud melodies from treetops in Melbourne, I found this bird.

A Yellow-throated Vireo singing his little heart out. My first time to photograph one of these Llittle beauties. It has been a season of firsts!
Yellow-throated Vireos are early spring migrants that travel from their wintering grounds in Central and South America.
Jay Bleus is a man in love with the blues. From busking in the streets of Toronto, he graduated in short time to be in the best blues joints in the city. His fluent and unique guitar playing and his voice are made for the blues. Jwoel “Jay” Benn has emerged as a highly talented and original singer. I seen him first time in Nov 2024 and went to see his trio at the Rex Hotel. He had a sell-out crowd at the Rex and seemed to me they were all his friends. The talented guitarist (Jimi Hendrix- watch out ) was part of Rex Sunday afternoon JazzInToronto's Songbird Series. With Kyle Colesanti – Bass and Paul Domanski - Drums.

Marketa sings with the 'Mole's Wing' since they started playing. Most members of the orchestra keep their social media files thin and their lives private. Her last name is not important. She could be a star, but this orchestra may be only public place she sings.
Lead by Tomas Kozák (sax, clarinet), the 'Mole's Wing Orchestra', plays only every few months, so I was lucky to catch them in action in Oct, 2024. I seen them in 2023 and enjoyed their interpretation of the classic big band tunes. Their faces are young, but as far I have gathered, they met in a High School and the core group continues playing about 10 years. Some play music in other bands, some do not play music anymore, but come to support their friends. I do not remember all their names, but here are some of the musicians who make the big band sound really good.
Tomas Kozák - leader, clarinet, saxophone
Dominik Štorek- MC, saxophone
Jakub Beranek, saxophone
Gustav Sedelmayer - trumpet
Markéta (Líbalova?) Goliášová - voice
Lukas Dvorak - piano
Václav Hadrava - bass
Štěpán Krtička - drums

'Sonny Balcones' were on the menu at St. Barnabas Church. I've seen them N-times; I guess, I like them. Corry sings in French and English and has several professions; one of them is making costumes for theatres. On the photo is also Bill Bob Stevenson. I have never seen Robert Stevenson with any other band. He is now about 70 and studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music (Toronto) and the University of Western Ontario. He is also a composer and plays regular clarinet and also quite often a strange long bass-clarinet.
'Sonny Balcones' on this day with Bob Stevenson; Conny Nowe -drums, Rachel Melas - bass, Jared Higgins-guitar and the leader, vocalist and occasional trumpet player -Corry Ouellette.

Amazing how these birds are so brilliantly colored on their face, throat, and breast, yet be so well camouflaged on the rest of their body.
I followed this individual around for about half an hour. It sure was vocal!

Just a simple candid street style Snapograph captured at the "South Bank" London UK of a guy doing all sorts of rhythms into a microphone using his voice and sounding just like a good drummer.

The age of the musicians varies at Grossman's. This is quite unusual in the rest of the city. Smokin' Joe van Rossem and Josh Williams are more than 60 years apart in age, but connect on the musical stage.
Joe is an esteemed musician in the traditional jazz community, and respected sailor in the regatta community. Josh started to come to with his mom to Grossman's few years ago and sometimes they would let him sit-in on the drums. Now, he is a regular guest on the drums and he also sings: Mackie Messer, Aliza Jane and few other standards, with great enthusiasm. From a shy boy, he became almost an extrovert. Audiences also range from babies to centenarians. I want to celebrate my 100th birthday there. Still have few years to plan it...;-)

The Northern Mockingbird is a prolific singer and mimic. They can copy the sounds of other birds, insects and even car alarms and often repeat whatever calls 6 - 7 times in a row. These were the second most common vocalists around our resort in Cuba and are known by the locals as "La Sinsonte" .
In full force when singing you can see them puff up their throat and make multiple whistles and sounds throughout their vocalzation. Rather plainly coloured but such amazing singers.
“The only thing that matters is to feel the fado. The fado is not meant to be sung; it simply happens. You feel it, you don’t understand it and you don’t explain it.” – Amália Rodrigues
From Belfast, drummer Mark Kelso has made Toronto his home a while ago. He is one of the drummers first asked to be on a gig. He was the head of percussion at Humber College for 15 years. 4 Juno awards speak volumes. Vocalist Renee Lee had picked him for her performance and he played with 'Who is Who' in the jazz scene. (Pat Metheny, Michael Bublé, David Clayton-Thomas, Holly Cole, Larry Coryell, Herbie Hancock, Olivia Newton John, Molly Johnson, Chaka Khan, Danilo Perez, Chris Potter, Bonnie Raitt and the list goes on).
In this evening he played also with Montrealer Taurey Butler - piano, Neil Swainson - bass, Ted Quinlan- guitar.
