Cruising the Avenue of the Giants in Humboldt County and the pullovers were frequent. The Coastal Redwoods are massive here, the tallest reaching nearly 400 feet in height. And they aren't youngsters either. Many of the trees are 1,200 to 1,800 years old.

For perspective I included Marg in the image. You can just see her white hat on the left-center of the frame as she hikes along the trail.

Welcome to October.

L'observatoire est plutôt prévu pour voir des oiseaux mais on a quelquefois de belles surprises comme la visite de sangliers.

The observatory is rather intended to see birds but we sometimes have nice surprises such as visiting wild boars.

Colline du Chateau, Nice - France

Walking around Quincy Bog, NH, we came across old stone walls, a reminder of New England's agricultural past. Visiting New England reminds us of the happy years we lived there. If only the winters weren't so long.

For those familiar with Bill Bryson's "A Walk in the Woods," no, we didn't see any bears.

Not one of our resident birds.

Time for a checkup...

Some say that in Paris, there are 6 million people buried in the catacombs. Insane to say the least.

Don't forget that the 11th is Veteran's Day here in the USA.

As I was leaving Circle B Bar Reserve (CBBR) near Lakeland, Florida, the morning crowds were beginning to grow. As shown here, the Reserve give occasional tram tours, but those tours do not take in the best of the foot trails in this #1 attraction in Florida.

Double fisting!

Thank you for visiting!

Visiting from the Mid-Hants Railway, 41312 leaves Irwell Vale with the 10.30 Bury - Rawtenstall on Fri 15th October 2021, day 1 of the East Lancs Railway Autumn Steam Gala.

Burrowing owl with a mean look on its face. This was taken on round two of visiting the Badlands on the return trip home from Yellowstone.

These two young male moose sauntered into our yard today, displaying an appetite for our Mountain Ash tree. I call it a tree but it's a sad excuse for a tree as it gets snacked on by moose every year and hasn't been able to grow much taller. We're thinking these young males might be brothers as older males tend to live a solitary existence.

I was curious to see how the Canon R5 would do in low light as it was very overcast and the sun was not contributing much. I was amazed at how, with an ISO of 12,800, that this photo is still usable.

Passing time on a rainy day.

Ithildin goes to the palace and waits for her cousin to discuss the case against her sister, who seems to be riddled with madness. As is her wont, she meditates before the statue of the Goddess Elthia, creator of the world and patron of the Elves.

My friend “Night Shads” showed me this place.

It's a wonderful place.

I'm wearing an outfit by Tori Torricelli called “Soledad.”

Visit this place, you'll love it!
