Today was a fantastic and (by our standards) eventful vacation day. It all started when Pookie went to get her haircut. The stylist decided to give her a French braid, which made her look like one of the Duras sisters. Pookie has the worst luck at the salon! Not only that, but once said horrible braid was removed, it became evident that her hair actually seemed longer than before it was "cut". Meanwhile, Schnookie took it upon herself to shovel the entire massive driveway herself. Someone was feeling fit.

Then everyone settled down for the men's biathalon. This Olympics has been tough for us. Our Vancouver experience was to fall deeply in love with Norway. We adopted a Norwegian city as our spiritual sister city (which at Maple Hoo basically means we read a bunch of Wikipedia articles, and then spend four years checking the weather there a few times a year. Because, apparently, we're dorks.) and spent every race cheering on the Norwegian athletes. If you've been watching the cross country skiing in Sochi, you've noticed Norway sucks! We can't have a spiritual sister city of losers! That's not the Maple Hoo way! So today we declared the coveted title of New Spiritual City Sister of 2014 goes to...drumroll, please... Grenoble, France! In response, the French biathalete almost squeaked out an amazing gold medal performance. Allez! Vive la France!

After the race, we headed over to the gym for a group training session with Schnookie's trainer. Pookie was incredibly nervous that Schnookie's trainer would turn out to be way tougher than her own trainer, making her look like a weakling. Fortunately, it turned out to be super, duper fun. We did all kinds of fun exercises designed for two people, like throwing a ball back and forth while maintaining a standing lunge, and "King of the Bosu", which involved throwing a ball at a person struggling to balance on a squishy half-dome. Neither of us could walk up the stairs when we got home, so clearly we did good.

Then the evening involved spinning another record from the giant Mylene Sheath jumbo record pack we posted a few days ago. If that record was good, and wasn't destined to be traded in, meant that the record shelf was going to have to be reorganized to make more space. This photo shows that yes, that record was awesome, and reorganization was required. Sooner than later, we're going to need a bigger boat, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

Now, on to read all about Grenoble's history of making gloves!
