Original UK Pressing from 1965 but with the 2nd cover. The first UK cover was the same pic like the US DECEMBER'S CHILDREN but is was very limited.
2nd german Issue ! The Front Cover is exactly the same as on this pressing ! This flip side has the order number upper left. This is not on the first issue. This 1967 or 68 issue has the red label/logo !
This is from my dad's old album collection. This album reached triple-platinum status. It's big hits were Rock You Like a Hurricane, Big City Nights and Still Loving You.
First Stooges Album! With a song called 1969. The next LP from 1969 (No Fun) has a song called 1970!
A most important album from the british Beat!
-Pay attention to the song > You Need Loving !!!!!!!!
That sounds incredibly like Led Zeppelin. But that didn't exist yet. I'm sure Robert Plant memorized this number as far as phrasing goes. Steve Marriott was really groundbreaking!! Especially the end of the song sounds like the end of >Whole Lotta Love - Years later!!
Just came in. This LP is a real treat for blues and (real old) R&B. The title song is by Albert King. However, the authors are listed as Booker T. Jones and Junior Wells. Rock fans will of course know the versions by Free (voc. Paul Rodgers) and Paul Kossoff solo. It's difficult to say which version is better. I tend to go for Paul Kossoff. Interesting: Ike & Tina on the British prog rock label HARVEST. That's because Ike & Tina was on the special label BLUE THUMB in the USA and Harvest had this label in distribution for Europe. Seeing Ike & Tina on Harvest was new to me.
But it's something. The whole LP, with bluesman Albert Collins on guitar, is something for 60s blues & R&B fans.
Just came in - The original german issue from Teldec Telefunken Decca - with the black RCA Logo! From Sweden through Discogs > 80€ !
First Humble Pie LP. German Issue. In that Year I saw them first - instead of Spooky Tooth . ST was on the bill, but not on stage. I saw saw Humble Pie 3 times- Spooky Tooth - never !! Bad Luck :-)
Third Yardbirds LP. This is the US issue with their first Hit FOR YOUR LOVE. The rest is not too bad. A nice version of - Hang On Sloopy - My girl sloopy! It sounds more like a comedy version. Their version of Ernie K.Doe's Hit - A Certain Girl, is a very ugly version!
First Original German 1966 Issue. With the black RCA logo! Only album of Jefferson Airplane without Grace Slick! Female voice : Signe Toly Anderson!
In the UK released under the number SPA 7 - It has a different cover. This is the better sleeve design.
My Phonogram record representative Dieter Köfeler (R.I.P.) brought me the inner sleeve with the original autographs from the guys from DIRE STRAITS!
A fantastic Album.First german issue. They used the US sleeve and record but they printed GEMA onto it and the printing year 1967. Taht wasn't used in the US. Distributed through the german Metronome.
I don't like brass music. I'm particularly annoyed by the trumpet, trombone and tuba. But this band uses brass music really well. Especially with the song: Real Cool World. A great song. The Watt-Roy brothers were later seen again with Ian Dury ! Besonders beim Song : Real Cool World.
This 1967 LP is arranged by Steve Winwood, but he certainly isn't the singer. He is also not mentioned at all in the liner notes. This LP line-up has nothing to do with the line-up from 1966, except of course Spencer Davis himself. The recordings should all be new recordings, at least they sound new to me!
For me, this has always been the greatest of the Beatles' solo projects.
George had written many great songs which did not make it onto any albums. For example the beautiful Isn't it a Pity was written in 1966 but not included on Revolver.
Signs of his developing songwriting could of course be seen on classics like While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Something and Here Comes The Sun (which is apparently the most streamed of all Beatles songs - who knew?). This stunning 50th Anniversary release is a proud part of my vinyl collection...
