Cool folk art guitar and the vinyl forever sign above it in the window of a record shop in a quaint outside mall caught my eye. Just seemed very Hawaiian plus cool they are selling vinyl records. Still have a lot of my vinyl albums. Rather shallow DOF, not the best photo quality with lots of reflections.
Definitely missing Kauai right now since only 32F degrees and snowing lightly! Crazy weather here. Average is upper 50's F.
Just an array of photos from our trip to Kauai. Sorry for so many, just saving to my album for memories.
Forgot I took this photo. The beauty of developing film weeks later I guess.

To perk myself up a bit I treated myself to a little gift, Bob Dylan's album from last year, Rough and Rowdy Ways, which also includes a second disc with Murder Most Foul, the very long song he released last year about the assassination of JFK. On opening up the double album and enjoying the artwork inside (one of those things you can do with vinyl!) I was delighted and surprised when I took out the actual records to find they were pressed on this very natty, sexy white vinyl. I had no idea, so it was a nice surprise!
Part of the record collection. Sorry you can't read the titles but all the usual suspects are there :-)

BPM Records, Sadler gate Derby...why the tight crop? Looking down from street level is why.
So vinyl is making a comeback ...do I regret giving my collection away?
Nah, snap crackle and pop weren't just a breakfast cereal sound, they seem to accompany every album I ever bought.
However, the bulk and heft of a double or triple album made you feel you were getting value.

"The most common form of the vinyl single is the "45" or "7-inch". The names are derived from its play speed, 45 rpm, and the standard diameter, 7 inches. The 7-inch 45 rpm record was released 31 March 1949 by RCA Victor as a smaller, more durable and higher-fidelity replacement for the 78 rpm shellac discs."
My first vinyl record with money saved from my paper round.

On December 7th, we lost one of my musician idles to a long and stubborn battle with cancer. Greg Lake, basis of King Crimson and Emerson Lake and Palmer will stay in my heart forever.

There is something far more magical about these than MP3's and downloads. I mean when you think about how it actually works, it's pretty impressive.
