After forty-five minutes of flight, it's time to return to dry land. To brake the aircraft, it is necessary to activate the deflectors, which create an aerodynamic barrier on the wings. In addition, just before the approach, the pilot can perform a “glissade”, a kind of skid in the air that reduces altitude while maintaining low speed, ideal for little.
As it arrives on the runway at low speed, less than 70 km/h, the glider stops a few meters after touching the ground. The ability to make short landings is one of the requirements for obtaining a license to fly gliders. The pilot needs to prove that he is capable of performing a safe landing in a space 30 meters long. This experience is necessary in case the driver needs to make an emergency landing in remote regions.
The experience of flying aboard a glider is the purest and simplest concept of flight, the closest a man can get to being a bird. It is a mixture of peace, due to the almost absolute silence in the cabin due to the absence of an engine, with the excitement of flying.

I have a great passion for piano but haven't been able to get it out for quite some time due to space. I recently though MADE space. Yes the love seat is rather unusable in it's current place and things have been put in inconvenient places but for a short time I will have my first love out and am planning on reconnecting;) I haven't practiced in years or i would have chosen something a little more impressive to play like one of my favorite Debussy pieces. I was reading through all of the sweet comments on my last picture and I just felt so blessed by the many friendships I have gained here. I am so thankful for each of your presence, your images that inspire, your personalities that comes through the comments. I just wanted to share some moments of holiday spirit with you. I play by both note and by ear and this is obviously by ear. It's a simple cover I made up as I went so please know it is nothing fancy. Just a moment from my heart I wanted to share:)
Pico do Calçado is unofficially the fourth highest mountain in Brazil, with 2849 meters (9,347 ft) of altitude. It is also unofficially the second highest mountain in the states of Espírito Santo and Minas Gerais, on whose border it is located.
The peak is located in the Caparaó National Park, on the border of the municipalities of Ibitirama (Espírito Santo) and Alto Caparaó (Minas Gerais). It is located in the highest block of Serra do Caparaó, less than 1 km in a straight line from Pico da Bandeira.
Until 2004, the altitude of the peak was quoted as being 2,766 meters, but during the Pontos Culminantes do Brasil Project, a more accurate GPS measurement confirmed the altitude as being 2,849 m.
Its access is via the trail that starts from Casa Queimada, on the Minas Gerais side, following the dividing ridge between the states of Espírito Santo and Minas Gerais, and reaching its wide summit by "walk climbing" on the rock. From there, the trail continues towards Pico da Bandeira.

On June 27, 2026, we witnessed one of nature’s most powerful spectacles on Hawaiʻi’s Big Island: a live volcanic eruption. The eruption came in waves, constantly shifting in intensity and form, creating a mesmerizing dance of fire, smoke, and light against the night sky. Seeing this extraordinary display in person was both humbling and exhilarating, a powerful reminder of the immense geological forces that continue to shape these islands. This time-lapse captures the movement, energy, and ever-changing beauty of that unforgettable moment when the Earth itself seemed to come alive. The timelapse movie recorded the 800-meter eruption.

Timeline: Began at approximately 10:10 a.m. HST on June 27, 2026, and lasted for about 7 hours.
Fountain Height: The north vent generated powerful fountains reaching up to 1,000 feet (300 meters)—surpassing initial lower estimates and higher than the 800-meter figure noted in some preliminary reports.
Colder weather is coming in a couple of months, so Serena is thinking about buying a small car to replace her scooter for getting to the office during the winter months. I hope her dad takes care of it, because, knowing his lack of knowledge about cars, I predict some pretty disastrous choices. 😄.....🇮🇹Tra un paio di mesi arriverà il freddo, quindi Serena sta pensando di comprare una piccola auto per sostituire il suo scooter per andare in ufficio durante i mesi invernali.
