It maybe poorer for lack of free trade, but their spirits are high - they still see victory ahead...
A little bit of poetic licence, but photograph seemed in keeping with the coming weeks VE Day Celebrations in 2025, marking the 80th Anniversary of the end of WW2 in Europe. The photograph was taken at the 2024 Victory Show in Leicestershire www.thevictoryshow.co.uk . The Show provides Historical Societies and re-enactments through various forces from several eras and theatres during the period of 1939-45. From Airmen to Infantry, the Victory Show opens a window in time to the 1940's.

Victory Gateway to Angkor Thom.
The gate is called "Victory Gate" according to the assumption that it was this gate through which King Jayavarman VII sent his army into battle against Champa, the Khmer empire's mighty enemy to the east. Parades on the "Victory Avenue" could have been launched at the Royal Square, or ended there. The very same gate may have been the place where the king welcomed his returning victorious warriors, when they entered the capital.
The theme for #SmileonSaturday is photographing nouns with the initial letter of V. Both of my arms feel rather leaden but I’m declaring Victory!! ✌️

I had long wanted a shot here of Rio Grande tunnel motors but alas it never happened. I did manage to catch the SP ACs here and that is a close second. SP 319 leads empties west soon to enter Egeria Canyon. October 99.
