Man is an adventurous animal

One of my attempts at the "Looking Close... on Friday" theme "Flowers and/or Buds".

Shot with a Nikon "LS-3510AF 50 mm F 3.5" (scanner) lens on a Canon EOS R5.

Young Raccoon out in the early daylight hours - presumably on his way to a spot to sleep the day away, De Pere, Wisconsin USA

Needless to say, there were no surfers brave enough to even venture off the beach.

While I was looking over the wetlands on the bridge over the creek, this hawk landed on the far end - not 7 meters from me. Stood for a bit, then took off. Near Beaverton, Oregon.

with the sky filled with smoke, I'm venturing back to the good old days.

This whole place beckons me. I want to enter and explore the whole property. There's some history here. The flare on the lens is due to the reflections on the water.

want to see what's inside? Head over to my facebook page at www.facebook.com/photographybybytegirl

This young least bittern was just beginning to feel his wings and to venture away from the security of his nest and home . It is such fun to watch how new and exciting everything is to them and to watch as they tentatively move out further and further.

Wishing you a great and blessed Thursday !!!!

Lavender is the new pink. I'll never stop wearing pink but I wanted to venture out.

Aboutme

I'm back in the archives and came across this grackle that shows up from time to time. I didn't realize they were so colorful until I uploaded this. They're loud and messy at times but the color makes up for it.

Once again, I hate this time of year in Oklahoma. At 5pm yesterday it was 106 with a heat index of 113 and today the same although I've not ventured out all day. Please hurry Fall!

Texture a combination from Picmonkey.

For the purpose of taking this picture, in a public place without rezzing ability, I chose to include mainly statics and wore them by attaching to centre, to make it easier to move them around.

Hope you enjoy this location to visit too, I only heard of it today!

My very first attempt at using the Blackdragon viewer.

When I checked on our little hummingbird nest in our back yard, I noticed one of them was outside the nest. Then about an hour later, I noticed it was back in the nest. Flight (albeit short) is the only possible explanation. Hummingbirds can't walk and they certainly couldn't have stepped over the lip of the nest. I keep checking back. I'd love to see them actually take flight.

VIA Nº29, the last westbound out of Quebec City's Gare du Palais leaves Daveluyville behind, pulling the last British built Metro-Cammell Renaissance equipment in use in the Corridor with two F40PH-2D's on the head-end.

Having roamed the Quebec City - Windsor corridor for 22 years, the last 7-car set was scheduled for retirement one week ago, but due to various mechanical issues with the new Siemens Venture trains, the REN was granted an extra week on the road. Polishing the rails between Ottawa and Quebec City at 95 miles per hour for 7 extra days.

My first time out in public as Rachel.

An A-10C from the Maryland ANG doing an extremely low flyby. The unit brought four of their soon to be retired A-10Cs to Air Venture 2025. They performed two 4 ship tact demos during their stay at Oshkosh.

Pictured here are some lovely houses of the village of St Goar taken from the KD Cruise ferry, the Köln-Düsseldorfer German Rhine Line runs from Köln or Cologne to Mainz daily.

Nowhere else on the planet has such a high density of castles in such a small stretch of land than the UNESCO designated (2002) stretch of the Rhein called the “Rhein Gorge” or “Mittle” Middle Rhein.

The KD Line has been in operation for 179 years, it offers cruises on the Rhine and the Mosel where the rivers meet in Koblenz and it is the only line with daily service from Cologne to Mainz.

For those seeking a true romantic Rhein experience they have the opportunity to venture out on the last of its kind paddle steamer (largest in the world) that still makes daily excursions up and down the Rhein.

The KD Rhine pass entitles you to travel the day on the ships that dock every 20 minute or so between Mainz and Cologne, you can use it as a floating hop on hop off bus to visit the sights along the way or as way to get between two cities in style.

On this adventure I took the cruise from Oberwesel to Rudesheim and then cruise back through the gorge to Koblenz and from Koblenz I took the train back to my car in Oberwesel.

I took this with my D750 and Tamron SP 70-200mm 2.8 G2 Lens processed in LR, PS luminosity masks and DXO Nik

Disclaimer: Not trying to be realistic in my editing there is enough realism in the world, my style is a mix of painterly and romanticism as well as a work in progress.
