The "Vela Llatina" is triangular in shape, spanned in the tenna, which is usually used by small boats.
The lateen sail is considered to be the best rig for hauling and sailing.

Another attempt at a widefield shot of the Vela supernova remnant at 135mm focal length. One night worth of exposures, mostly with an Astronomik clip in UHC filter, 10 minute subs at ISO800, with some no filter shots, 10 minutes at ISO200. The UHC was used as luminance as well as some colour. This is all pretty faint stuff! Sigma 135mm lens at f/2.0, CGEM2 EQ mount, PHD2 guiding, NINA camera control, APP and PS processing. I like NINA but its really rubbish for DSLR shooting, next time I will be back on APT.

We attempted to do a part of the famous 7 waterfalls trail. But even before reaching the first waterfall a group of hikers told us there's absolutely no water. So already here we turned around.
On the right is Vela peč (Big Crag), while left behind there's the Buzet town and surroundings.

Vela Ozida is a hill above the Liburnian coast (east Istria) on top of which there are remains of an oval dry wall. It has a regular form, with more than 100 m in diameter, seen from the space. This picture shows only a part of it.
Archaeological explorations have started a few years ago, until now only some cleanings have been done. Scholars agree that the structure was made by the Liburnian tribe, some time in the iron age, so before Romans arrival. The best guess now is that it was a fortified promontory. Indeed from the summit (rising between Brseć and Mošćenice) one has excellent view on the whole Istria eastern coast and islands of Kvarner.

The creek od Draga / Pivka usually doesn't have much water. So, you need to come here after some days of rain, preferably in spring or fall. Otherwise this is one of the most astonishing places of the "Route of 7 waterfalls". To the right of this huge tufa pillar with waterfall, there's an equally tall vertical crag, arranged as a free climbing area. In the crags below there are even more of those. and on the creek altogether there are at least 4 nice waterfalls.
