The Laugavegur is a famous trekking route in South-West Iceland from the hot springs area of Landmannalaugar to the glacial valley of Þórsmörk . It is noted for the wide variety of landscapes on its 55 km (34 mi) path. The route is typically completed over 2–4 days with potential stops at the mountain huts at Hrafntinnusker, Álftavatn, Hvanngil and Emstrur. An ultramarathon is held on the route each July. It is possible to combine the trek with the Fimmvörðuháls route which goes over the pass from Þórsmörk to Skógar for an additional one or two days or an additional 25 km (16 mi). Landmannalaugar, Þórsmörk, and Skógar are all reachable by bus during the summer. A bus from Hella connects with Álftavatn once a day during the summer.
There are over 40 different varieties of mustard plants, but three are the most popular for culinary use; black, brown, and white mustard seeds typically go into recipes and making mustard. All three varieties are found in the U.S. as well as other parts of the world.
Mustard is the second most-used spice in the United States, as its usage is only exceeded by the peppercorn. And it's no wonder since mustard works well with all types of meats, pork, poultry, and seafood. You may be used to standard yellow prepared mustard, but there are other wonderful varieties of seeds and prepared mustards to experiment with.

The Fairy Pools are a natural waterfall phenomenon in Glen Brittle on the Isle of Skye. The vivid blues and greens of the pools suggest an unnatural origin. They are a popular place for wild swimmers.
The habitat of the Fairy Pools hosts a variety of animals, such as red deer, rabbits, and sheep. The area is also host to a large number of birds. Large flocks of crows, ravens, and gulls are present in the area, as well as such smaller birds as meadow pipits, turnstones, common ringed plovers, grey herons, dunlins, and curlews. The physical landscape is predominately rocky, with some boggy areas here and there. The water in the area is typically cold.
The Fairy Pools are a popular location for walkers. It is about a 20 minute walk to the Fairy Pools from the Glen Brittle car park.

In winter the gardens are a riot of color, with several species of Aloe and the Impala lily in full bloom.
The Aloes attract a variety of birds, including the Collard, White-bellied, Marico and Scarlet-chested Sunbirds, Crested Barbet, Black-headed Oriole, Black-eyed Bulbul and Red-winged Starlings.
Pelicans are a genus of large water birds that make up the family Pelecanidae. They are characterised by a long beak and a large throat pouch used for catching prey and draining water from the scooped-up contents before swallowing. They have predominantly pale plumage, the exceptions being the brown and Peruvian pelicans. The bills, pouches, and bare facial skin of all species become brightly coloured before the breeding season. The eight living pelican species have a patchy global distribution, ranging latitudinally from the tropics to the temperate zone, though they are absent from interior South America and from polar regions and the open ocean. Pelicans frequent inland and coastal waters, where they feed principally on fish, catching them at or near the water surface. They are gregarious birds, travelling in flocks, hunting cooperatively, and breeding colonially. Four white-plumaged species tend to nest on the ground, and four brown or grey-plumaged species nest mainly in trees. The relationship between pelicans and people has often been contentious. The birds have been persecuted because of their perceived competition with commercial and recreational fishing. Their populations have fallen through habitat destruction, disturbance, and environmental pollution, and three species are of conservation concern. They also have a long history of cultural significance in mythology, and in Christian and heraldic iconography. 61272
Spoonbills are a genus, Platalea, of large, long-legged wading birds. The spoonbills have a global distribution, being found on every continent except Antarctica. The genus name Platalea derives from Latin and means broad, referring to the distinctive shape of the bill. Six species are recognised, which although usually placed in a single genus have sometimes been split into three genera. All spoonbills have large, flat, spatulate bills and feed by wading through shallow water, sweeping the partly opened bill from side to side. The moment any small aquatic creature touches the inside of the bill—an insect, crustacean, or tiny fish—it is snapped shut. Spoonbills generally prefer fresh water to salt but are found in both environments. They need to feed many hours each day. The spoonbills are most distinct from the ibises in the shape of their bill, which is long and flat and wider at the end. The nostrils are located near the base of the bill so that the bird can breathe while the bill is submerged in water. The eyes are positioned to provide spoonbills with binocular vision, although when foraging tactile senses are important too. Like the ibises the spoonbills have bare patches of skin around the bills and eyes. The six species of spoonbill are distributed over much of the world.
Ibises are a group of long-legged wading birds in the family Threskiornithidae, that inhabit wetlands, forests and plains. Ibises usually feed as a group, probing mud for food items, usually crustaceans. It is widespread across much of Australia. It has a predominantly white plumage with a bare, black head, long down curved bill and black legs. They are monogamous and highly territorial while nesting and feeding. Most nest in trees, often with spoonbills or herons. Due to its increasing presence in the urban environment and its habit of rummaging in garbage, the species has acquired a variety of colloquial names such as tip turkey; and bin chicken, and in recent years has become an icon of popular culture, being regarded with passion, wit, and, in equal measure, affection and disgust. 48963
This Variety/ Convenience store is still a Variety/ Convenience store. On major Toronto arterial roads (College, Queen or Dundas Street) some of these were converted to a restaurant and left untouched on the outside. The street retains this way some of the character. Kind of reverse Potemkin effect. The mural on the side is reflecting the Portuguese community, which moved into this neighborhood in 1950's

Sometimes the sea looks grey or with an assortment of blues and adding a touch of white foam or sea diamonds. Pastels, reflections ripples, patterns and the intensity of the sun add to the variety of sea artwork to be appreciated.
I find these Variety/ Convenience stores interesting to photograph. I am not in habit to shop there and I am surprised how many survive in the city. This one is on Bathurst Street, close to Central Tech, but the school closures must make a dent in the earnings. (Jun 13, 2021, P1490257, Upl Jun 19, 2021)

The East African Eland, a sub-species of the Common Eland, is a savannah and plains antelope found in East and Southern Africa. It is a species of the family Bovidae and genus Taurotragus. An adult male is around 1.6 metres tall at the shoulder (females are 20 centimetres shorter) and can weigh up to 942 kg. It is the second largest antelope in the world, being slightly smaller on average than the giant eland.
Mainly an herbivore, its diet is primarily grasses and leaves. Common elands form herds of up to 500 animals, but are not territorial. The common eland prefers habitats with a wide variety of flowering plants such as savannah, woodlands, and open and montane grasslands; it avoids dense forests.
The Common Eland is used by humans for leather, meat and milk, and has been domesticated in many areas. Eland milk contains much more butterfat than cow milk, and can keep much longer without pasteurising.

Though we don’t have a huge variety of species of hummingbirds in the United States, we do have some pretty neat looking ones. We were fortunate to see several species of hummingbirds on our recent Arizona trip including the one that I think is my personal favorite for the USA; the Broad-billed Hummingbird. I always though this bird should have had a flashier name, considering other hummingbird names I have seen. I mean, it does have a pretty cool looking beak but with all that color, the broad-bill just isn’t the standout feature to me. Hey, what do I know? Anyway, I hope you enjoy this beauty at least half as much as I did.

The Long Corridor is a covered walkway in the Summer Palace in Beijing, China. The total length of the Long Corridor is 728 metres and it is decorated with more than 14,000 paintings, especially on the ceiling and its beams, which divide it into 273 sections. Along the corridor there are four octagonal pavilions. Each of these pavilions symbolises the four climatic seasons of the year. The more than 14,000 paintings have a wide variety of subjects: historical figures, famous buildings, landscapes, flowers, birds, fish, insects... Of particular importance are those depicting folk and traditional tales, fables and episodes from classical Chinese literature. As a part of the Summer Palace, the Long Corridor was included on the UNESCO World Heritage List in December, 1998.
There is no doubt that the Long Corridor is a beautiful place during the day. But it is at night, with the arrival of darkness and the lighting of the chinese lanterns, that it reaches its true splendour, creating a special atmosphere and transforming into a long, luminous and sinuous thread in the midst of the darkness. It is at night when it becomes a magical place, where stories, tales, fables, imagination... come to life and arise. Dreams and tales, in the middle of the night and darkness.

Tranquiliza tu mente. Descansa tus ojos y duerme bien.
