Tonights sunset. It looks calm and peaceful in the photo. Actually it was cold, blowing like crazy and lots of waves. Nothing 8 seconds won't cure.---LOOKS BEST ENLARGED ON BLACK (push L)
It's said red skies at night "sailors delight". Red skies in the morning "sailors beware" Sometime it's just one small thing that catches your eye. The light coming off the first post is one of those things that attracted me to this photo.
Dead Horse Point is a state park in southeastern Utah. At the end of a mesa, you are 2000 feet above a gooseneck (sharp turn) of the Colorado River. Canyonlands National Park is in the distance beyond the river.
The views are spectacular!

Last week we had a wildfire close to our house. The night of the fire our yard was filled with ash and burnt remains, some measuring over a foot long. The fire was never threatening, but did darken the skies and make a mess of my driveway and lawn.
Both photos were taken tonight. It was rainy cloudy and dark. The clouds split for a few moments and the colors were intense.
LOOKS BEST ENLARGED on BLACK.......My wife while viewing my nights photos said "it looks like those rocks are hovering in the air" ,so thats what I decided to call the photo.

While at Kodachrome Basin State Park (Utah) and on the wrong trail down the wrong road, I wandered around and happened to stumble on this scene. Impressive in person, even more so after a bit of processing.
