Used horseshoes are supposed to bring good luck but the spider webs don't seem so lucky to me. I have also heard that when the shoes hang in this direction the luck runs out. I found these in a dark shed on the Wine Cup Cattle Company ranch in Ovid, Idaho.
Using an enlarger or projector lens as a day-to-day lens is challenging. In case of enlarger lens, they are usually set to perform the best on certain distance to enlarge 10 times or less). They perform very well as macro and close-up lens.
I tried it as a landscape lens. (Disclaimer: I am not a landscape photographer at all). I liked it in combination with IR or ND filter.
On this photo I tried to get a vintage BW grainy look. Long exposure aide in camera was disabled. NO grain added in post-pocessing.
Used for grinding corn and other grains. It's rare to find the mano with the metate together. I found these in an out of the way place near a river and left the mano just like I found it.

What do you see? For me it was a combination of a Barn Owl face, an Ewok and a singing dog. I wonder what my Psychiatrist would say about that? lol
I used this spoon in a photo recently and said it had a story behind it.
I bought it from a local Fair trade shop. It was made in Laos from aluminium salvaged from deactivated unexploded bombs dropped on their province during the secret war which took place between 1964 and 1973.
A percentage of the money from the sale of these spoons goes to a charity to help young disadvantaged Laotians further their education.
On a lighter note, I'll let you into a little secret. The patterned fabric is a pair of oversized knickers Gloria bought for a photo...what is she like? ;)

Successfully used in combat in the Battle of France, accounting for about a third of the AdLA victories.
Typically French, the throttles had to be modified to operate in the opposite direction to aircraft for the US and UK.....
The old Tayport light house that sits out in the river Tay, looking a bit dilapidated and now being used as roost for dozens of cormorants. I have been told that the inside is several feet deep of bird poo.

Using vegetation to anchor restless sand dunes in place. Photo taken at Kalaloch campground on the Pacific Ocean in Olympic National Park, Washington State.
Note: Some of the images I am using for the Bird count were previously taken. I'm short on time at the moment. Also, less birds visit when the camera is visible.
For the bird count, there are three hummers here on a regular basis. One male and two females. They use the feeders on occasion but they prefer to nectar from the flowers most of the time. I believe that there is one couple and they may have started nesting in oak two. They fuss at me every time I get too close to that oak. Image taken through the window. I put the hummingbird feeder in the firebush outside the window and swap it out with a different feeder with fresh sugar water every three days. In the future, I will only purchase small feeders and they will all be the same. The idea is to be able to make the swap with a fresh clean feeder / water and bring the other one if to clean with little disturbance to the birds. They don't seem to mind too much that the feeder style changes often. But if I were buying them over again, I would go for small ones in order to save on sugar water. It's not expensive to make or anything but it does mold here in FL fairly quickly so it needs changed often for the birds health. I'd rather fill small ones each time :)

... Think you've got a point there, Cid."
As I didn't know what sort of a day I'd have after Graham fell yesterday, I was digging into the Happy Hippy bag as soon as I could for an emergency back up photo.
The weather hasn't been great either today, not raining, but overcast and dull, so I thought I'd give going out a miss and use my spare photo, which I had fun taking anyway and liked how it came out.
PS: Graham is feeling bruised and a bit weak, but he's been resting, sleeping for most of the day and I'm hoping that he'll be more like his old self by tomorrow.
Thank you all for asking.

I am using my lensball for the first time here. I bought it two years ago but I never think to shooting with it. I thought of this idea with my backyard tree and gave it a shot. My maple tree still has lots of leaves left on it but that'll change soon. We woke up to some snow today! The seasons are changing and I am not a fan of the cold winter weather like I was as a kid...lol

Used to be one of my favorite fences. The old wire fence was covered with a very old, thick vine. It was thriving in some places and dead in others. Intricate and lovely, showing the power of nature to ignore the fence. It was cut down last year (you can see one cut in the lower center), to put in a temporary road while remodeling the next door school. The school looks great, but now there's just an empty cyclone fence there.
I repurposed my old B&W enlarger to become a photo copy stand. It works brilliantly in its new job because it was originally built to be perfectly square between the base and the tower that used to hold the light, lens assembly and negative holder. All the parts to make a print from a negative have been removed in favor of the ability to mount my Canon R7 body easily to the rig and then I can "scan" other images and turn them into a digital file.
I've been doing this with my family pictures that don't exist anywhere else except in these images.
But what to do with all the left over parts?
This is what I did with the lens.
Shot using a El Omegar 50mm f3.5 enlarger lens.
