"In life's confines, I try to let my soul refine...."

We loved. We evolved. We peeled away the layers. And we evolved again.

Pictured, my beloved and I.

From Wikipedia:

Horseshoe Bend is a horseshoe-shaped incised meander of the Colorado River located near the town of Page, Arizona, in the United States.

Horseshoe Bend is located 5 miles (8.0 km) downstream from the Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell within Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, about 4 miles (6.4 km) southwest of Page.

It is accessible via hiking a 1.5-mile (2.4 km) round trip from U.S. Route 89, but an access road also reaches the geological structure, as it is part of a state park. Horseshoe Bend can be viewed from the steep cliff above.

The overlook is 4,200 feet (1,300 m) above sea level, and the Colorado River is at 3,200 feet (980 m) above sea level, making it a 1,000-foot (300 m) drop.

The rock walls of Horseshoe Bend contain a variety of minerals, among which are hematite, platinum and garnet

You found the light in me that I couldn't find

So when I'm all choked up

But I can't find the words

Every time we say goodbye

Baby, it hurts

Silver glinted in the morning sunlight as Aurora turned this way and that, looking at the reminder of how her life had changed in the blink of an eye.

"Kintsukuroi. The Japanese rather than throw something broken away, fill the cracks with gold or silver, to show the beauty in the imperfections."

She'd been informed of what her scars reminded Noma of, and part of her saw it. But the part that she wouldn't show that was scared... that still had the weight of what could happen hanging over her, that part couldn't see it yet as a tear slid down her cheek. Would she have changed running next door to the kids aid had she known the outcome? No... no she wouldn't.

We are enjoying SL for only the two of us :)

Reworking of an old shot from Deadvlei in the Namib Desert in Namibia. A truly amazing place.

"Deadvlei is a white clay pan located near the more famous salt pan of Sossusvlei, inside the Namib-Naukluft Park in Namibia. Also written DeadVlei or Dead Vlei, its name means "dead marsh" (from English dead, and Afrikaans vlei, a lake or marsh in a valley between the dunes).

The clay pan was formed after rainfall, when the Tsauchab river flooded, creating temporary shallow pools where the abundance of water allowed camel thorn trees to grow. When the climate changed, drought hit the area, and sand dunes encroached on the pan, which blocked the river from the area.

The trees died, as there no longer was enough water to survive. There are some species of plants remaining, such as salsola and clumps of nara, adapted to surviving off the morning mist and very rare rainfall. The remaining skeletons of the trees, which are believed to have died 600–700 years ago (ca. 1340-1430), are now black because the intense sun has scorched them. Though not petrified, the wood does not decompose because it is so dry."

When we first laid eyes on our puppy (a little over a year before this image of her was taken), the color told us immediately that her name must be Sedona. So, when we had a chance to take her there, of course she had to have multiple photo shoots in the region. This is one of the images from along the Oak Creek, after enduring a long 4x4 adventure that she didn't particularly enjoy, she was pleased to relax and take in the view from a stable seated position.

Congrats on Explore!

The United States Capitol, often called The Capitol or the Capitol Building, is the seat of the United States Congress, the legislative branch of the federal government. It is located on Capitol Hill at the eastern end of the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

We were not in time...it took the shower 5 minutes to reach us, it took 10 minutes to leave the bridge...

A bald eagle was flying across the lake and coming directly at us and ultimately flew over us. This was one of the most exciting interactions I've had with the eagles.

Low is one of my favorite camera Locations, not allway good for my knees..but..plus I like light Trails..this is one kind of lucky incident, as the moving car Lights separate the capture into lower street and upper sky with the Pru...have a pleasant day ...cheers, Udo
