Shot in bold monochrome from the Brooklyn Bridge, this image captures the jagged Manhattan skyline behind a grid of suspension cables. The sun blazes through the haze, flattening the skyline into silhouette and casting the whole scene in stark contrasts. The convergence of structure and skyline creates a layered tension—geometry meets chaos, light meets shadow.

Throwback vibes with a twist of irony! Here’s the General Motors Class 071 engine, rocking its retro orange livery like it’s straight out of the 80s—back when CIE trains were basically Ireland’s version of a tangerine dream.
This beauty was spotted on engineering workings, which, let’s be honest, most commuters loathe for the delays (sorry, Karen, you’ll get to work… eventually). But for us train nerds? It’s a rare treat to see this nostalgic beast in action, hauling history down the tracks.
Who needs a time machine when you’ve got this orange slice of the past chugging along—disrupting schedules and stealing hearts since the 70s!

port adriano has been designed by philippe starck and is a relatively new harbour in the south-west of mallorca, between santa ponca and magaluf. apparently they seem to have some works so when i was leaving the underground parking i enjoyed the view to this industrial vessel. "This photograph depicts an urban scene viewed from within a dimly lit garage or underground area, looking out towards a brightly lit outdoor space. In the foreground, there are grey concrete steps leading upwards, flanked by white walls. At the top of the stairs, there is a view of a busy construction or maintenance site, indicated by the presence of various equipment and vehicles. There are large reels of cable. The contrast between the shadowy interior and the illuminated exterior is striking, with the daylight revealing the details of the industrial equipment and machinery. It's a candid and unembellished snapshot of harbour life, blending elements of architecture, urban planning, and industrial activity."
I didn't know this until I looked it up recently. did you ever notice the columns beneath the 7th street bridge? I mean, you can see through the columns to the other side, which means there is an empty space or chamber inside the bridge.
as it turned out I was right, beneath the ground I was standing on, there is an empty access tunnel inside the bridge. it is popular amongst the urban exploration crowd and the homeless. it even appeared inside a video game (l.a.noir).
take a closer look next time you are on or around the 7th street bridge.

"Düsseldorf Airport (German: Flughafen Düsseldorf,; until March 2013 Düsseldorf International Airport; IATA: DUS, ICAO: EDDL) is the international airport of Düsseldorf, the capital of the German state North Rhine-Westphalia. It is located approximately 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) north of downtown Düsseldorf, and some 20 kilometres (12 mi) south-west of Essen in the Rhine-Ruhr area, Germany's largest metropolitan area.
Düsseldorf is the third largest airport in Germany after Frankfurt and Munich handling 24.5 million passengers in 2017. It is a hub for Eurowings and serves as a focus city for several more airlines. The airport features three passenger terminals and two runways and is able to handle wide-body aircraft up to the Airbus A380."

A glimpse of Kalasatama Metro Station in Helsinki, captured straight out of the Canon 5D Mark II, untouched, no edits or retouches. The contrast between the cold, industrial lines of the metro architecture and the soft pink sky felt almost cinematic—a reminder that beauty often finds its way into the most unexpected places.

A single train glides through a maze of tracks in a vast urban rail yard.
Captured from above, the composition reveals the strict geometry and intricate layout of modern railway infrastructure. The rhythmic repetition of sleepers and rails conveys a sense of order and complexity.
The monochrome treatment enhances the contrasts and textures of this urban landscape, drawing attention to structure over color.
Photographed with the Leica D-Lux 8 in standard color mode, later converted to black and white using Apple Photos.

This striking domed structure marks the southern entrance to the Greenwich Foot Tunnel—a curious and iconic landmark on the Thames. Designed by Sir Alexander Binnie and completed in 1902, the red-brick building with its glass dome conceals a spiral staircase (and lift) that leads pedestrians 15 metres below the riverbed. From here, walkers cross under the River Thames to emerge in Island Gardens on the Isle of Dogs. A remarkable feat of Edwardian civil engineering, the dome itself has become a local icon—part sci-fi, part civic pride—anchoring Greenwich’s riverside charm in both history and utility.
