Continuing in the eSPee tradition of lumber heavy manifest trains from the north battling gravity to achieve the golden empire in the south, an eastbound Union Pacific 'Q' splits the intermediates as it climbs the upper leg of the Caliente horseshoe.
This was one of my favorite locations and one of my favorite images taken on Tehachapi. The sight of eastbounds continuing their struggle out of the valley, looped around the horseshoe curve in the distance, perfectly topped off by the searchlight signals framing the headend as the tracks slither up the hill side.

I was a mess of a man
With washed up excuses, I know, I know
Part of the confusion is me
We both agree that I wasn't the man you needed me to be
But, oh, how I changed and oh, how I've grown
Could she believe me when I've got nothing to show?
My everything, she needs to see
The choice is hers to believe in me
Rathaus Kopenhagen
Copenhagen City Hall
Shot on all fours with my arm outstretched using the phone's rear camera (which resulted in a first aid attempt by a frightened city hall employee who rushed over to help me back on my feet ;)
Skippy Fills Up this little guy loves the bird seed and spends a fair amount of time eating it as long as it's there, the squirrels are now busy eating acorns, shot in North Carolina.
Western Australia's world famous giant tingle trees from from 40 metres up in the canopy, as well as up close and personal on the Ancient Empire ground walk. The world class Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk soars gently upwards amidst the tingle canopy providing expansive views over the wilderness and opens up a world of birds and flowers that most people never see.

GP-40 has seen better days but is tonight on the Mongomery job. Seen here where they tied up in New Prague next to the recently closed flour Mill.
Lots of unwanted ambient light to deal with, including constant auto head lights but I wanted to get this shot. Thanks to Dan K. for letting me know it was here,
It had rained the whole night and little residual clouds accompanied me on my way up the mountain. I love how they made my photos so much prettier.
Took this photo of some beached logs just before leaving Prestwick beach with my new Viltrox 56mm lens just as the sky coloured up before being swallowed up by distant clouds...

A Great crested grebe chick being fed by it's parent. The chicks are getting quite big now and have started to practice fishing for themselves.
On a recent jog I took my macro lens I attach to my iPhone and made a couple of stops to take these photos.
With the afternoon sun peaking in and out of the clouds a lumber heavy eastbound climbs the grade out of Caliente and towards the former station of Allard (now the westend of Bealville).

Eye catching features on The Chanonry, Old Aberdeen. These buildings are much more recent than the street itself, the name coming from the fact that it was once home to the canons (clergy) of St Machar’s Cathedral, which sits at the far end. The college of canons was incorporated as early as 1240, although canons may have lived here longer than that - the nearby church became a cathedral in the 1100s.
