In this poignant capture, a small brick road winds its way through a humble Pakistani village, Dharmatchi in Chakwal, where predominantly impoverished residents find solace and strength in their close-knit community. The focal point of the photograph is a weathered brick wall, standing tall and resilient, symbolizing the perseverance of the people who call this village home. Beyond the wall lies a lush, green field, serving as a reminder of the potential and possibilities that await those who tread this path with determination and unwavering hope.
Hello my friends,
I have not been on as much because my wife was sick and a few other things, which made for busy times for me once again lol...
And wouldnt you know it, after she is slightly getting better I then turned sick.
Corona strikes again on us both you see.
So...I haven't been out much for new material and I decided to do a different edit on this majestic bird which is also a symbol of where I'm from. And what I stand for!
A brighter perspective than the other versions I had posted before.
We all in every nation live in very concerning days. Days described in a book but few pick it up. And in fairness I should more as well!
Thanks guys, always a pleasure to have you stop in and I appreciate your support sincerely!
God bless you and yours...

My dog, Emmy, has very expressive eyes. It has been just a little over a year since I adopted her from a high-kill shelter. Now I can't imagine life without her!
"A person can learn alot from a dog, even a loopy one like ours. Marley taught me about living each day with unbridled exuberance and joy, about seizing the moment and following your heart. He taught me to appreciate simple things - a walk in the woods, a fresh snowfall, a nap in a shaft of winter sunlight. And as he grew old and achy, he taught me about optimism in the face of adversity. Mostly, he taught me about friendship and selflessness and, above all else, unwavering loyalty."

A woman finds herself on a weathered bench beside a stoic lighthouse. The sky above is ablaze with the fury of an approaching storm, with dark clouds swirling ominously. The sea mirrors the tempestuous scene, its surface disturbed by the impending chaos. With a sense of hopeful anticipation mixed with melancholic yearning, the woman sits alone, her eyes fixed upon the distant horizon. The reflections of the brooding clouds dance upon the restless waters, as if reflecting her own emotions. Each passing moment deepens her longing, yet she remains steadfast in her vigil, her unwavering gaze a testament to her enduring love.

Once upon a woman, inspiring with her gentleness and recklessness through her unwavering commitment to all the causes she espoused.
Her mind shaped to understand and appease the thorniest human mechanics would fill grimoires with exemplarity on so many levels.
Like a talkative stalk that envelops us and fills us with love and courage, the sap of which invites us to a cyclical floral exaltation since the world is world.

“The purity of peace, which is genuine happiness, cannot be found outside of you in material possessions, accomplishments, or other people. Pleasure is a fleeting emotion based on an external factor. But true happiness is who you are, and does not depend on anything else. When you are at peace, you are more than enough. You are pure life--complete, fulfilled, whole, and you are everything you could possibly want or need. You feel sufficiently independent and whole, yet connected to life and every being on the planet. Peace is true fulfillment. Once peace is consistently maintained, it is unwavering, no matter the strength of the storm surrounding you.”

Now you've gone, we've finally lost the last moral anchor and moral compass of the UK....So prehaps it's time to take the "Great" out of Great Britain....Thank you so much for your totally devoted service to this country for so so many years....there have been so many times when look at it, l've felt we really didn't deserve you as our national figure head after what the UK has now become....So once again from the bottom of my heart thank you so so very much for your unwavering service.
RIP Your Majesty.

Mother's Day is about expressing love, gratitude, and appreciation for the incredible contributions mothers make to their families and communities. It's a time to acknowledge their hard work, sacrifices, and unwavering support.
A Bit of History:
In the United States, Canada, Australia, and many other countries, Mother's Day is celebrated on the second Sunday in May. This means in 2025, Mother's Day will be on Sunday, May 11th.
The modern American version of Mother's Day is credited to Anna Jarvis in the early 20th century. She campaigned for a national day to honor mothers after the death of her own mother.
The first official Mother's Day was observed in the United States on May 10, 1908, in Grafton, West Virginia, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
In 1914, President Woodrow Wilson officially proclaimed the second Sunday in May as Mother's Day.

On a gorgeous spring morning, a number of small, flitty warblers were going about their business of catching bugs, but keeping their distance from me. Very hard to follow them in flight! After a couple of hours, they became a bit more accustomed to me, and started to come a bit closer.
This bold Black-Throated Green Warbler landed close and was checking me out - kindly posing for this portrait. So very pretty!
One thing I like about this capture is that I was able to get the brown iris to show in the eye - usually with these small birds, it just looks black.

No matter how rhapsodic one waxes about the process of wresting edible plants and tamed animals from the sprawling vagaries of nature, there's a timeless, unwavering truth espoused by those who worked the land for ages: no matter how responsible agriculture is, it is essentially about achieving the lesser of evils. To work the land is to change the land, to shape it to benefit one species over another, and thus necessarily to tame what is wild. Our task should be to deliver our blows gently.

"In the distance, where the horizon straddles the sky and the sea, an island floats as if lifted from a dream.
The sky is blue, wide and generous, but the mist and low clouds embrace the island, giving it a touch of mystery. Below, the sea rises with a bold rhythm. Not violent, nor presumptuous, but unwavering. For those willing to follow the courage of the blue, to read the silence in the mist, the island and the danger awaits." -Millie Cruz©

In the serene waters of Al Qudra Lake in Dubai, a majestic black swan glides gracefully, flanked by her two fluffy white cygnets. This tender scene captures the essence of motherly love—protective, nurturing, and unwavering. The adult swan's vigilant posture shields her young as they paddle innocently, reflecting the profound bond of family in nature's tranquil embrace. A moment of pure affection amidst the shimmering blue expanse.
To all the fathers, to all the fatherly figures, who take a child to the brink of their own self discovery, and stand by them.....firm, constant, committed.
Who guide them to adulthood and their own journey.
To my dad.
You left us within a year of mom.
I can still see you sitting there quietly, so ill, with tears in your eyes. And saying "It's not for me. I know I'm going to be with your mother. I just hate to do this to you and your brother again"
What you "did" was love us.
Heroically.
Now you and mom live together in me. You are my compass.
So to all the heroes out there who love with that unwavering endurance, that unspoken depth......this day is for you.
Thank you.
Happy Father's Day. :-)

Recently, I had the opportunity to observe two freshly fledged Barred Owls, in two different cities, as they ventured out of their nests and onto the forest floor. The one shown in this photo, was old enough, and strong enough to climb up a nearby tree (and out of harm's way), while the other one required a helping hand. Sorting through the vast collection of photos and videos from that eventful day has been quite a task, but here's a preview that encapsulates the unwavering resolve and sheer power possessed by these amazing raptors.

Nature does not seek praise for itself, rather it seeks to bring praise to the One who made it. It is humble, it does not seek its own glory. It does not seek after man's empty praise. It knows why it was made. It lives with purpose and one purpose only. Its unwavering mission is to bring glory to its Creator and to point others to Him!
I woke early this Friday morning here in Australia to a view of rain and leaden skies. Fitting and appropriate indeed as I listened with heavy heart to the radio news of the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
I am British by birth but no Royalist. However, I do have great respect for her as perhaps the 'ultimate public servant'; her quiet dignity, selflessness and unwavering dedication.
She has been a constant and an anchor throughout all of my life and now as her life and passing becomes part of the great annals of history and time, I know she will be sorely missed by many far and wide.
May she rest in peace.

On the peaceful Siboney estate, located in the beautiful area of Santagueda, in the municipality of Palestina, Colombia, the sun shines generously almost all year round, bathing the landscape in warm light and vitality. This sunny climate favors the abundance of birds that make this place a true natural sanctuary. The diversity of species that inhabit and visit Santagueda is impressive, and the local community has developed a deep awareness about the importance of preserving these precious creatures, recognizing them as messengers of prosperity and guardians of natural balance.
Since ancient times, birds have been symbols full of hope, transformation, and miracles for humanity. Their ability to fly between the sky and the earth makes them a living connection between our everyday world and the spiritual realm. In many indigenous cultures of Latin America, these birds hold a special meaning: they are heralds bringing messages of abundance and guides inspiring inner growth.
In Siboney, each day dawns with a natural concert, filled with angelic songs that soothe the soul and release everyday tensions. Listening to those fresh and varied trills is like opening a door directly to peace, freedom, and clarity. Observing the birds in their flight and their multicolored behavior is a constant reminder of the harmony that nature offers to those who know how to listen.
The rooster (Gallus gallus domesticus) of the Siboney estate is a vibrant and majestic bird, displaying exuberant and colorful plumage. The deep reds and intense oranges of the neck and comb stand out, contrasting with iridescent greens and shiny blacks in the tail and back feathers. Its bright red, wide, and upright comb stands proudly, as do the crimson wattles hanging beneath the beak. The expressive and alert eyes denote unwavering energy, while its proud posture conveys leadership and attentive reflexes. The silky texture of the feathers on the neck and tail, fluttering in the wind, adds a sense of movement and life to the rural landscape of Santagueda. This rooster is a visual emblem of renewal, prosperity, and bravery, serving as a colorful and sonorous reminder of the power of each dawn.
"The rooster is a symbol of vigilance and activity. For this reason it is found in ancient monuments among the attributes of Minerva and Mercury. It also indicates combat and victory, because it prefers to die than give in. It immolated itself on the lares and on Priapus. It was also offered to Aesculapius for the healing of the sick. Mercurialis relates that, having addressed to this god a blind soldier named Valerius Aper to recover his sight, the god replied that it was necessary to take the blood of a white rooster, make eye drops with honey and rubbed his eyes with it three consecutive days. The soldier obeyed, healed and publicly thanked the god. Perhaps for this reason, says Mercurialis, the ancients have represented Aesculapius with a rooster on his fist. The statues of Bacchus They sometimes represent him with a rooster at his feet because he was sacrificed for the conservation of the vineyard. The Gauls had taken the rooster on their banners; it may be the cause of the Latin misunderstanding of his name and. The French have long held it as an emblem."(wikipedia)
(wikipedia)

We met on a rainy day..
And it became our theme..
The rain..
That made me love its gentle cadence as it falls,
its light pitter patter as it touches my skin,
its constant, unwavering presence that reassures..
It reminds me of the gentle timbre of your voice
when you whisper of your love in my ear..
The tender way you hold my hand
as we walked down life's many roads..
The way you made me feel your quiet strength
that promised to never leave my side..
But alas.. you were taken away..
Far too soon..
But all is not lost...
For you live on in my heart..
Especially..
When it rains...

I stood on the shore of Lake Pehoé, my heart as still as the water before me. The mountains, usually so imposing, were mirrored perfectly in the glassy surface. Anchored and forgotten, a transport ship cast a solitary white shadow on the serene waters. It was the sixth day of my trek through Torres del Paine, and as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the lake, I felt a profound sense of peace.
Yet, as I gazed upon this tranquil scene, a stark contrast emerged. The world outside this pristine wilderness was in turmoil. Political divisions had grown deeper than ever before. The concept of truth seemed to be relative, and empathy had become a lost art. It reminded me of the lyrics to R.E.M.'s "Losing My Religion": "That's me in the corner, without a voice."
I thought about the yin and yang, the ancient Chinese symbol representing the interconnectedness of all things. Light cannot exist without darkness; joy cannot exist without sorrow. In this moment, as I stood on the shore of Lake Pehoé, I was acutely aware of the duality of human experience. The beauty of nature and the ugliness of human conflict.
I couldn't help but wonder: Is this what it means to be alive in the 21st century? To be constantly bombarded with information, yet feel more disconnected than ever? To be surrounded by people who believe they are absolutely right, and everyone else is absolutely wrong?
As I turned to leave, I glanced back one last time at the lake. The mountains still stood tall, their reflections unwavering. Perhaps, in this moment of stillness, I had found a small piece of the peace I was searching for.

The Castle of Eger, standing defiant and majestic, is more than just an architectural masterpiece. It’s a testament to the invincible spirit of the Hungarians. Back in 1552, this mighty fortress was the stage of the Battle of Eger, where a small band of 2,000 Hungarian defenders, against all odds, bravely held off an imposing Ottoman army of 80,000. This heroic stand still resonates today, a rich tale of courage and resilience woven into Hungary’s national identity. Every stone of the Castle of Eger tells the stories of the past, echoing the roar of cannons, the clash of swords, and the unwavering spirit of those who dared to defy an empire. This castle is not just a monument, but a living, breathing chapter of Hungarian history.
