Spring as sprung, but it's still cold in our area -9c as I type this. But the March sun and milder day time temp is slowly thawing and revealing some hidden gems.

It's an all day rain event on our first day spent in the Canadian Rockies region. Arrived at Canmore, Alberta by mid-day, rained most of the time until 6-ish. Ehagay Nakoda was gradually making its appearance, and I believed I photographed Mt Lawrence Grassi.
"Ehagay Nakoda is a multi-peaked massif located immediately south of the town of Canmore just east of the Spray Lakes road in Alberta's Canadian Rockies. The mountain sports two subsidiary peaks with commemorative names, Mount Lawrence Grassi (which is the tallest) and Ha Ling Peak on the northwestern end. It also sports two other named peaks: Ship's Prow on the southeastern side, and Miner's Peak. The mountain is separated from Mount Rundle by Whiteman's Gap, and is separated to the South from The Three Sisters by Three Sisters Pass." ... Wikipedia
We haven't entered the national park, so I still get cell signals; however, with my US Verizon unlimited phone plan, I only get 0.5G of high speed data per day in Canada. Unfortunately, this 0.5G does not last long so I must pick and choose what I do online.
Wishing you all a happy day ahead!
On Boxing Day, I also took a panorama at one of my favorite places. It was just awesome to see how the sun fought the fog und unveiled the beauty of this landscape. Hope you like it!
The 1200 m northwest wall of Mount Civetta is the stuff climbers dream of. We were happy to view it from a safer distance. In the left lower corner you can see the trail that follows the length of the wall at its base, the Dolomite High Route 1 or Alta Via 1. Taken at sunset from Rifugio Tissi, panorama from 2 horizontal images.
This is the same house, Traveler's Rest, that is in Shiver Me Timbers.

Developing its breeding plumage, this Eastern Great Egret likely knows that a suitable mate is just half a kilometer away.

“Unveiling Nature’s Artistry: The Giant Swallowtail Caterpillar in My Garden”
This magnificent creature was a sight to behold. Nestled amidst the lush foliage, it seemed to be enjoying the warmth of the sun, adding a touch of dynamism to the serene garden landscape. This photograph captures the essence of this momentous encounter, reminding us of the wonders of nature that often lie hidden in our own backyards.

"A statue removed from an Islington park more than 30 years ago has been officially reinstated. 'Upon Reflection' is a self-portrait of artist Kevin Atherton, first unveiled in the Philip Noel-Baker Peace Garden, in Elthorne Park, in 1985.
But the statue, which depicts the artist gazing at his reflection in a pond, was vandalised and eventually removed after less than two years. The plinth has remained empty since.
The sculpture was thought to be lost, until the council’s heritage team found it in the basement of Islington Town Hall last year." (source and date of article unknown😭possibly 'Islington Gazette')
Originally when the Statue was Installed was plain Silvery Bronze colour. It was painted Silver (as here) but the Date that it was Painted Gold was sometime in 2024 (to be updated)
